Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Born in the city of Chicago, but now repping his hometown of Joliet, IL, Greg Collins jr, better known as RealyungG found his love for music early. After many years of enjoying the music his parents exposed him to, G decided to start rapping at the age of 14. He is no stranger to making music, dropping his first album “Introduction of Yung G” back in 2009. Since then, RealYungG has released 10+ projects and toured all over the US. /since 2017 he has gained noteriety and developed a fan base for his unorthodox flow and unforgettable hooks. Steadily progressing, RealyungG has not only built the YGN brand (Yung Greatness Nation) but also a strong network of industry connections while remaining an independent artist with no major outside funding. over a million plus streams across all streaming services such as Apple Music Spotify

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Who saw me clearly before I can see myself was my parents they believed in my vision my dreams and pushed me to chase them

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized you can’t please everybody when it gets dark out and everybody turn they back on you and you alone with your thoughts you can either use your pain to push forward/grow or you can let it destroy you I decided to use it as a weapon to become better I put my pain in a music formate and displayed it as art for the world to see

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lies my industry tells is that you need a major label to have a hit record or to build a fan base when you can have a good foundation good brand and you can still be independent while creating your vision art is life arr is power and I can create it freely without the system which is a record label

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People will mostly understand about my legacy is that I did it my way is that I don’t need a system to do it that I did it all on my own believing in myself making it happen for my dreams that’s what people will remember
