We recently had the chance to connect with Seana Zelazo and have shared our conversation below.
Seana, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I love this question so much! Thank you for staring out with this one because I see this question as an orienting principle; it helps me arrive where I wish to be for this conversation. And thank you for the beautiful opportunity to share with your readers. I am so grateful. Integrity is the most important of these three to me. Integrity invites us to move through our world in alignment and as a result, gives us access to enacting the concept of right relationship.
Often integrity is understood as being honest with others and keeping our word to others, but I understand integrity to also include our relationship with self and the ability to courageously honor our own heart. In doing so we can show up authentically and in right relationship with self to cultivate right relationship with the world. It is the integrous heart that feels the interconnection of our Universe and then seeks to understand the nuanced ways that this interconnection exists. Furthermore, integrity conjures a desire to enact ways to honor this sacred interconnection. If we do not act in alignment with our own heart and we only engage in ways that seem from the outside to be integrous, we cultivate inner discord, which ultimately creates opportunity for our actions to reflect that disharmony. Integrity in the fullness of how I understand it, is what inspires real change and encourages us take responsibility. It is what allows us to course correct if we need to, and to honor our human journey even when it is messy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an author, initiated priestess, intuitive channel, and licensed psychotherapist. I offer intuitive guidance and coaching as well hold circles aimed to support intuitive remembering, and devotional and ritual practice. I am a mother, surfer, writer, and lover of the natural world. It is my intention that my life be an artistic expression of deep devotion in honor of The Great Cosmic Mother and all her many expressions, including my most beloved Goddess Inanna. My heart’s desire is to navigate this life in a way that uplifts, supports, nurtures, empowers, and is in intentional heart-connection with all beings.
My services include Soul Readings in which I tap into a person’s Akashic Records, as well as one-on-one spiritual coaching, mentorship, and sacred circle group work. My book, The Way of Inanna: A Heroine’s Guide to Living Unapologetically, is available at booksellers world wide.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself, is my relationship with my mother. We share many similarities. As a result, she was able to help me understand my own sensitivity, my intuitive gifts, and my capacity to experience that which is beyond the veil from a very early age. My mother Nancy died when I was 19 but our connection continues, and she is still a strong presence in my life. She supported me by helping me understand why I experienced the world in the way that I do. She taught me how to ground, to protect and boundary myself energetically, how to cultivate discernment, and how to turn fear into empowerment. Also, she helped me remember at a very young age that my spiritual path is a path of service. Every day I hope to honor her by finetuning my heart and my ability to see things without judgment. She is a deep inspiration for me in this way. She was and still is sublimely compassionate. I aspire to emulate this gorgeous quality of hers.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I have had numerous dark nights of the soul as many of us have. The suffering I have experienced has given me access to how I can better support others when they are caught in the frequency of suffering. It has helped me how find ways to move grief through the body to access a greater sense of peace. It has given me tools with which I can support others as they navigate intensity. The suffering I have experienced has always been deeply initiatory and as such it has yielded opportunity for me to know who I really am and what I am made of, to observe and bear witness to my own strengths.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I am committed to is that we live in an animate world that is woven together into a sublime, interconnected collage. To me to the thread that both holds us and connects us is Love. I understand this animacy to include all beings who reside in our physical dimension but also in different dimensional realities and who are unseen by our human eyes. This is not a belief that will be washed away over years, or easily forgotten, it is at the core of my foundation and informs everything I do and has since I can remember. If I did not have access to the beautiful relationships that I have with the beings of our animate world, I am not sure how I could navigate the level of intensity that we are feeling in these times of great change. Engaging with the Animate All is my muse, it was what inspires me to live from my from heart. I am committed to helping others access deeper connection with the animate world.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I am out on the water surfing my home break with the sun coming up over the horizon.
