Story & Lesson Highlights with Hope Easton of Los Angeles

Hope Easton shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Hope, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
I was just thinking about that today as I went to Anaheim to perform for a nonprofit event, I thought to myself my days are never normal, and I never know what they will bring. It isnt a predictable day job from 9-5, it is a life that weaves around and has its own time as to what the days will bring.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I am Hope Easton and I am a musician. I am a classically trained cellist who has go a little outside of the box in my musical temperament. I like playing all types of music, pop, jazz , avant-guard, and of course writing my own. So a composer of songs, they call it songwriting. Oh and I sing the songs, while playing cello. And some other instruments.
I also have a chamber group, because I do love playing it, duos, trios and quartets. The group is SonosChamberPlayers, com
I am currently getting ready for a show at Molly Malone’s in LA Aug 14th @ 8pm

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
This might be a strange answer, but my relationship with my body shaped how I see myself.
As a young person I was a gymnast, second to none my love in life.
I still see that relationship to the body I am in as a gymnast.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
This is so personal, but my parents’ divorce at the young age of 6.
I think the wounds are always there, like a scar. but one has the choice to transform all energies.
Music is a great healer.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I think so.
Hope

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
That’s easy, a house. With some help. Well a lot of help.
