We recently had the chance to connect with David Zilmer and have shared our conversation below.
David, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes look like me falling out of bed, throwing a mat down and meditating for an hour, and then either going for a run or some exercise.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am David Zilmer lead singer and guitarist of the band Tewahedo, we play all around the u.s as well as locally in the dade and broward county area. I teach music lessons like guitar/vocals/piano/songwriting/ artist development, as well as throw events with my band curating lineups and opportunities for other artist. We just dropped our most recent single “Dream catcher” and are doing some shows to promote that as well as some music videos
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I found out laughing is the only way to go through life
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering is a product of attachment to results or the lack of, I learned to work without worrying about the result and be resolute in my process, the moments when there’s no reward or when no one is watching are the most important.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
My vow is to not lie to myself, I’m not for creating cognitive dissonance, how I appear to you, I can’t control, the opinions you make are yours and for you to hold.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
If your doing this for a reward, find something else to do, only a fool chases after shiny things, a wise man sees the diamond in the rough
