John & Mekhi, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I normal day for me is to get up stretch , clean myself , eat , do some exercises then study things from other booming brands online to see where I can go with my next drops. Then I get on Xbox and stream .
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
How’s everyone doing , my name is John Sanders aka TDKMulaa . I’m the founder and co owner of fashion brand TrillionDollaKidd luxury apparel Chicago. I make the big decisions and luxury drops for the business along with networking + ads. Our brand really represents being your better self while shooting for the stars and being fly or fresh doing it . We also represent family , peace and unity . We want everyone from any shades of life to wear our clothing and be the better version of themselves while wearing it . Me I’m a serial entrepreneur who loves to bet on myself . I like to see what I can accomplish in life doing me and taking smart big risks . So I started TrillionDollakidd . I also stream on twitch , YouTube
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before being a serial entrepreneur and a righteous godful person I was doing illegal things that I’m not always proud of . Me constantly getting in trouble with the law and seeing things i didn’t want to see made me say fuck it and change my life around early. I appreciate the most high no matter what through this Journey and my peers as well as my co owner Mekhi Marshall for being here and helping make this brand a thing . We work hard to be successful and we’re still working. I appreciate everything!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
When I lost almost everything 2 years into my business I went mute . I didn’t want to talk I didn’t want to do anything, I was confused, lost. I then thought about how far I came and what I did to get here . I couldn’t just let everything go n quit just because I took a huge lost . I was always told you can’t spell millions without a couple Ls so that drove me to become stronger and realize that a lost isn’t failure but giving up is . I couldn’t fail who had faith in me especially I can’t give up on myself.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say family , success and fun matters to me a lot. I do so much for my child he means the most to me and I want him to be successful, I love being with my family members and their happy and I love going out doing things especially if I can network my business doing it . I love being family oriented it helps through tough journeys. I treat my friends like my family .
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People will misunderstand that I’m literally a walking testimony that you can do this too! I came from nothing and I rose to someone you can actually google or ask chatgpt about. They will not understand how hard it was to get here but I make it look easy . I won awards had multiple interviews and articles about me and the brand they don’t understand how I did it but just know they can do it to! Just grind and put god first .
