Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dalia Amine of Giza

We recently had the chance to connect with Dalia Amine and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dalia, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending a nice time on the beach next to the north coast of Egypt, it’s really amazing, especially that we have hot summer a little bit

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
my name is Dr Dalia Amin. I’m a PhD archaeologist professional guide and organiser in Egypt lecturer at the Faculty Of Tourism and hotels guidance department working on the tourism field for more than 20 years as well as giving free trainings for this student would be future Tour guides

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
It’s such a great honour to be born in Egypt. I have seen big civilisation around myself and the people are coming from everywhere around the world to see how amazing is our history and our artefacts such as the pyramids the museums the treasures of the pharaohs. That inspired me to prove myself for my future as working on the Tourism field to reflect right image about Egypt to everyone thinking about travelling or visiting Egypt in a professional way

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Life is not such that easy, and I’m just a human like anyone, the point that tourism field is very sensitive to the security and the World policy, for that it’s greatly affected by any actions happens on the neighbourhoods such as pandemic, wars, natural crisis, geopolitical situation, that makes people worry about travelling to Egypt or anywhere else for that I’m trying to make myself ready for facing such the time by taking advantage of the free time by teaching at the university or giving free trainings to the new graduated students know something good I want to make them ready for facing decorate problems

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Every day we hear something new about Egypt and its history. We never have seen it before such the city that was discovered under the pyramids., another lie the pyramids were built by aliens, the ancient Egyptian war giants, mini false stories like that we hear about Egypt and it’s all our lies so we try to explain and clarify always for the visitors that they just tell stories

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story that I would like everyone tell about me after I am is a good memories and I never hurt anyone and also to leave something behind me when the people read or see it makes them happy not sad and it it learn them something good for their life
