Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Nate Paxton of Atlanta Georgia

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nate Paxton . Check out our conversation below.

Nate, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up filled with gratitude and I start with stretching, prayer, and diving into my Bible. Then I do some personal development and write down my goals.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nate Paxton and I’m from Scottdale, Georgia. I grew up in a very tough neighborhood where all the odds are stacked against young black males. I grew up not having as much as the next, and homeless for a good amount of my life but that never stopped me from wanting more out of life it just made me hungrier. Being that I never had much it made me appreciate things a lot more than most people. I’ve been blessed to have two amazing parents who taught me on how to make the most out of everything and turn negative situations into positive Ones. I know the man that I am today is solely due to the humble beginnings I’ve had.

With such humble beginnings I was able to go on to Georgia State University and play college football where I went from a walk-on to on a full scholarship and from a guy who was just on the team to a team captain earning tons of awards, playing time, and most importantly my degree making me the first in my family to graduate college. From there I went on to have multiple opportunities to further my professional career from NFL workouts with the Falcons and Seahawks, to playing overseas in China, CFL workouts, arena football in the IFL and so much more.

In 2022 I decided to retire from the game I grew up loving and the game that helped literally change my life. From there I was looking to impact the community by providing resources to the youth to help them gain many or some of the same opportunities I’ve gained through college academics and athletics. This is why with the help of my amazing mom and younger brothers I launched my nonprofit to cater toward the underserved and underprivileged community.

Over the last 3-4 years I’ve helped 500+ kids earn athletic scholarships to go to college and have generated well over $6 million dollars in financial aid and this is just the start. I even wrote a book on the recruiting process recently that’s a game changer for families looking to win in the recruiting process.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with GOD shaped how I see myself today. I’m a King’s kid. He says in HIS word I am more than a conqueror, I’m the head and not the tail, I’m blessed coming in and blessed going out, etc.

GOD made me in HIS image and that’s what I believe!!!

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering is a part of the process. Nothing great came from comfort or without pressure. And if I never suffered I wouldn’t succeed or understand how to be grateful when I do succeed. The only way you get to where you want in life is by remembering where you came from.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes the public version of myself is the real me. I am a man of GOD and a man of valor of integrity. I believe how you do anything, is how you do everything.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I pray when people think about the Nate Paxton Legacy they think about faith, perseverance, and true impact. I pray they remember me as someone who knew that people mattered and was heavily involved in the community. I want them to see the facts standing in front of me never stood a chance to faith that resides in me.
