Story & Lesson Highlights with Emma Seo of Las Vegas

We recently had the chance to connect with Emma Seo and have shared our conversation below.

Emma, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’m a morning person. I wake up every morning at 4 or 5 a.m. and take my dog for a walk. Then I have my coffee and bread for breakfast when I get home.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I specialize in Korean lash lift techniques and teach them to students in the U.S. My method is completely different from traditional American approaches, which allows me to guarantee unique and definitive results.
This technique is particularly popular in Korea and Japan, where lash lifts are often preferred over extensions because they create a more natural look. For beauty professionals new to the business, this is an excellent skill to master as it offers something truly distinctive in the market.
My goal is to introduce the American beauty industry to this natural enhancement approach, helping to spread the Korean beauty philosophy that emphasizes enhancing your natural features rather than covering them up.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My expertise comes from learning under two exceptional mentors in Korea’s highly competitive beauty industry. Teacher Suk-hyun and Woo-joo were both generous in sharing their skills. Their willingness to teach me everything they knew was special in an industry where many instructors held back certain techniques and for that I am forever grateful. I follow their philosophy and thus pass on those same authentic techniques to my own students.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
In the future, you will meet a variety of people. Stay strong in the present. I hope you can do many things and live a daily life that suits you. Experience many things in your 20s so that you can live a harmonious life between work and rest by your 30’s rather than continuing a stressful life.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
No. I’m a very introvert and quiet person. I prefer recharge my energy when I’m alone. That’s why I’m a completely different person when I’m working outside. When I see others, I greet them warmly and talk to them first, and they will think I’m an extrovert. I rarely say a word in my house.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop worrying about things that haven’t happened yet. I want to live the rest of my life in peace without any worries.
