Story & Lesson Highlights with Adelia Nazyrova of New-York

Adelia Nazyrova shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Adelia , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I often start my day with good thoughts in mind: meditation and mantras really help with that.
Then I make myself a coffee and do a bit of light morning movement.
I check my emails and take a moment to plan my day.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’ve been dancing with the American company World Ballet Company for the past two years. We toured all across the United States, performing in productions like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and The Great Gatsby.
Now, I’m planning to open my own dance and music studio in New York City.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful goes back to my childhood, when I had to urgently replace a girl in a performance and dance for two full hours.
It was an incredibly stressful moment, but it had a deep impact on me and my belief in myself.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
What helped me was the feeling that it would pass — that I just needed to give myself time to be sad.
Sometimes it helped to go somewhere else or simply take a break.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
For me, honesty with myself and the ability to speak it to others is very important. But often, I choose to stay silent so as not to hurt someone’s feelings.
I also value the beauty around me and the desire to create harmony and peace within.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I do what I love and listen to my intuition. I couldn’t work a job I don’t enjoy or do something that doesn’t bring me pleasure.
I work hard and understand that it brings me joy. But if there’s no growth, it’s better to change the path or direction.
