We recently had the chance to connect with Charmain Taylor and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Charmain, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me laugh is I was with a colleague and said “you are giving me Elf vibes.”
-Colleague “Whst would my elf name be?”
Me: “I am unsure, I haven’t figured it out yet.”
Colleague: “What about me being Mrs.Claus?”
Me (Laughing historically) “Whoa! You can’t just BE Mrs. Claus! You CAN be the head elf before you get to Mrs. Claus!”
We both laughed. We eventually named her “Sprinkles”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I teach many different genre’s of dance.
What make it interesting is that I have discovered that dance commands discipline, greatly increases confidence and promotes laughter and joy.
I am presently taking different types of classes to expand my own knowledge, elevating my own dance abilities and improve my overall health.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my mother.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Never once. I have always pursued what generates joy, makes my family and those that have assisted me along the way.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Very simply.: That I live by the golden rule.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I lived a life full of courage, challenged what needed to be challenged and effected change in the most beautiful manner.
