We recently had the chance to connect with Belen Barriga and have shared our conversation below.
Belen, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
There’s really no such thing as a “normal day” for me and honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts about what I do.
That said, my routine usually includes a good workout, time with my dogs, (Bruno and Bella) something delicious to eat, and always a moment to check in with myself. I love the structure those little rituals give me, even when everything else is constantly shifting. Every day brings something new, whether it’s a shoot, a client meeting, or a creative spark and I thrive in that kind of flow.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Belén Barriga, a content creator, wellness advocate, and creative strategist with a background in multimedia and journalism. I started my journey leading TeamBelu, a creative agency focused on intentional storytelling and digital content. My roots in media have shaped the way I see brands: not just as businesses, but as stories waiting to be told.
Now, I’ve merged my work with Sahel Mirfakhraei, founder of Sisu, a creative agency and together we bring a dynamic, layered approach to content and brand strategy.
We help brands show up with clarity, creativity, and purpose, through storytelling, social media strategy, visual content, and experiences. Our work is about creating connection, not just content, and finding that balance between performance and authenticity.
Right now, we’re focused on projects in wellness, culture, restaurants, hospitality and digital innovation, and we’re building systems and stories that are designed to scale without losing soul.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Life taught me to adapt. Clients taught me patience, communication, and how to deliver under pressure. Mentors helped me zoom out and see the bigger picture. And past bosses? Some taught me what to do, others, what not to do and both lessons were equally important.
I’m constantly learning, especially because the diversity of our clients and accounts keeps things fresh and challenging. Every brand has its own voice, pace, and purpose and navigating that complexity pushes me to stay sharp.
And honestly, my team teaches me a lot, too. We hold each other accountable, push each other creatively, and make the whole process collaborative not just transactional. That makes the work better and the journey way more meaningful.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Be present. Enjoy the people you love. Give your time to the ones who truly care about you and bring you peace. Don’t get stuck in the “what ifs” because they’ll only distract you from what’s happening right now. The present moment is where everything real happens: the joy, the clarity, the growth, the connection.
I’d also remind her that perfection is overrated, and that life unfolds in ways you can’t always control but that’s not a bad thing. Let go a little more. Trust yourself a little earlier. And don’t hold back when it comes to showing up for the people who matter. That’s where the real success lives.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is authentic. I don’t fake energy, I don’t play a character, and I share what genuinely reflects how I live, work, and think. But like anyone, there are parts of me that don’t always make it to the screen moments that are quieter, more vulnerable, or still in progress.
The version of me you see online is curated, not because it’s fake, but because it’s focused. I share the pieces that feel aligned with what I do and who I’m building with. That said, the values, the humor, the voice that’s all real.
I think balance is important. You can be transparent without oversharing, and you can be yourself while still protecting the sacred parts of your life. So yes, it’s me just not all of me.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I showed up fully. That I created with intention. That I cared deeply about my life, my people, and the energy I left behind in every space I touched.
I hope the story people tell isn’t just about what I built, but how I built it with honesty, with courage, and with a lot of heart. That I didn’t just chase success, but made room for others to grow alongside me. That I found beauty in the chaos, softness in the strength, and meaning in the everyday.
And most of all, I hope they say I was present. That I loved out loud. That I made people feel seen and inspired even in the smallest ways.
Because legacy isn’t just what you leave behind professionally it’s how people felt when they were around you. That’s the story I hope sticks.
