Jazzy The Uncontrolled Goddess shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Jazzy, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy is most important to me because I believe that everything is energy. Intelligence and integrity are both a form of energy just outsourced in different ways. Everything carries its own vibration, its own frequency. Energy is the foundation.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Peace. I am Jazzy The Uncontrolled Goddess. “Uncontrolled” simply means uncontained (not placed in a box) and “Goddess” implies that I am a Divine Feminine Creator. My main creative gift is the ability use my words as a tool. As a writer, poet, and author, I innerstand the power and importance of words. From my experience, words can kill or heal. Choosing the words to assist in healing, inspiration, motivation, and empowerment is the key factor of my purpose.
I have been writing since the age of eight. It began as short shorties. Eventually poetry became a major part of my life. In 2009, at the age of 31, I took a chance and performed in front of an audience. The response I received was eye opening. In that moment, I knew I was meant to be on stage, speaking sharing my gift. Being an empath have allowed me to really connect with diverse audiences. Even within my writings. Some of my poems reflects the experiences of others. I talk about love, life, lessons, joy, pain, and reality stories. My poetry is unique because of this ability to not only tap into others, but to also provide a safe space to my audience. Through my words, my expression a journey is curated.
I’ve been on a journey of my mine. After going on a personal mission to reconnect with myself, I am working on releasing a new EP called “Innerstanding” (produced by Queen of Vibez). This project is scheduled to rise on September 9th, which happens to be my born day. How fitting, right! Alongside of the release, I have Poetry Books available for purchase through Amazon or in person. Life Goes Goes is inspired by Tupac Shakur. A line from 17 of his songs were creatively transformed into a poem from my perspective. This book will have you thinking of your own perspectives. Poetic Justice is based on love from all angles. It includes poem about self love, heartache, sexuality, sensuality, and amazing feeling of love itself. Again, I like to take my audience on a journey. I am honored to have a positive impact on lives; one word, one line, one rhyme at a time.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The old version of me has served its purpose and must now be released. I spent the majority of my life being afraid of life. For many years, I was led by fear. The fear of failure, the fear of rejection, and the fear of the unknown. Confidence use to be just a word I would here. A feeling that we are told to have. In the past (not so distance past), I dealt with low self- esteem and imposter syndrome. Once I got into a space of embracing the fear, the unknown, I was able to free myself. Going through so many life cycles was necessary for my growth. I honestly believe that it was crafted as a part of my spiritual mission. Now that I have experienced and overcame so much, I have the resilience to guide others on their path. I see old versions of myself in other people.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been a few times that I almost gave up. Being an artist, creative, and entrepreneur come with its own challenges. You have a certain level of what you think success is supposed to look like. When that vision doesn’t align with your reality, it can be overwhelming. Especially as a writer and poet, there has not been a solid genre for this art form. When you think of genres, no one ever says Poetry. That has left me in a space where I questioned the reason for performing and sharing my work. Honestly, because I know my words are to be a channel for collective healing, giving up is not an option. It’s not just about me, its about us as a whole. Once I innsertood this, I shifted my mindset of the entire concept of giving up. Do I have moments where I pause and regroup, absolutely! As long as I can feel and honor my gifts, I trust my path.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe that I could “save” people. I thought I could love them so much that it would change the “dark” parts of them. That belief was wrong to a point. Everyone is responsible and in control of their own healing. As I navigated through my own shadow work, I discovered that those dark parts existed in all of us. Love is the solution. However, I can not change anyone. I can only create energy of impact and influence.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Because of my life experiences, I understand deeply to the point of innerstanding that life is what we create. Even with all the perceived experiences that are negative. They are still for a purpose, a reason. Think of this way.. I am a Goddess. I was created by God (The Creator) in the image of which is creation. We are all created to create. We may not agree with some things that are in our current reality. However, we have the ability to create a new perspective, a new mindset, a new response, and a new action. I deeply connect with the gratitude as the foundation of manifestation. It all circles back to what we are choosing to create.
