Hi Joseph , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Prayer. I always try to give the first part of my day to the Lord. Then breakfast and coffee

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I started the Aul Bat Co. right out of college and have been running it for almost 15 years now. We are unique because we are a turn key company. Meaning we take the bats from raw material to finished product and handle every part of the business. Most small companies can’t do that, and we actually manufacture for other brands as well. We also combine that small company, attention to customer feel, with state of the art process that only most big companies have access to. We are also innovators and just got approved for a patent on a new unbreakable wood bat! More on that to come soon!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’m still the same person. I stay rooted in my true identity as a son of God. I struggle with it at times, like anyone, but my faith and family are what keep me grounded and that keeps me consistent and happy.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Most young men struggle with purity. But once I was able to surround myself with other good men and build a solid prayer life, those struggle slowly began to heal. The church and the sacraments are key to any healing. God can act any way He chooses but the gift of His church is that we know for sure when He is acting. And that brings so much consolation and peace.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
My dad is a perfect example of some one who has no duplicity and I think I am following in his example pretty well. Basically what you see is what you get.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Nothing. I love what I do and who I am doing it with. I’m at peace with going when God calls me
