Story & Lesson Highlights with Raw Proof of Antioch, Tennessee

We recently had the chance to connect with Raw Proof and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Raw, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ince breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Just got off touring the South and SouthEast. The Life Worth Living Tour w/ Symmatree. His tour – I rode a long and got rid of some merch, met a lot of good people and took a lot of notes.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an adult rapper. Ha! My voice is an instrument but it’s also a tool used to inspire and influence people to be the best version of themselves. I expect a lot from myself and I expect a lot from my friends and family when pertaining to effort. Since I expect that, I also encourage that. My organization would be The Goin’ In Show.
It is a platform where we build on race and cultural relations from a Hip-Hop perspective. The brand is Raw Proof.
It’s total and transparent evidence of us saying what we mean and meaning what we say. More importantly, practicing what we preach and doing the work. Simple.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
A lady named Ms. Ann Cotton. She was a probation officer for many years. An Alabama angel who still floats around the community uplifting people of all ages and backgrounds. She really drilled the power of process into my head. Whatever it is you are trying to obtain, or whatever it is you are trying to overcome, you can break it down into steps and take one step each day. She is the voice of reason. Countless people know of her and about her in the Lower Alabama region.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
No fear. The fear of retiring into poverty has crossed my mind. It’s more of an idea to entertain than a feeling.
It motivates me to make the proper moves now, to ensure I have an enjoyable time in the future.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
That there is an almighty Creator of this Universe and others. I can prove it, but that doesn’t mean everybody is going to agree.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
The fact that all people in positions of power can be corrupt. No matter what country, what origin, we will always have good-bad-and evil. Look through History. No group of people are historically more righteous than another. The way in which we lived (tribalism) may have been indeed more healthy for everybody including the planet versus conducting our lives within a civilization. Every group of people have lived in a tribal fashion at some point in time. I don’t suggest we go back to old ways. I do however suggest that we look to the past for wisdom as we progress into the future.
