Meet Joshua Crump

We recently connected with Joshua Crump and have shared our conversation below.

Joshua, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
My purpose first comes from God. I believe that there’s a calling on my life to lead. I realized a long time ago that people gravitate towards me. I can utilize that gift for something positive or negative, and I choose positive. At J Crump Productions, we capture visuals that last a lifetime and bring people together. We create a sense of fellowship and nostalgia with each picture we take. The brand grows because our clientele understands our vision and feels included in that vision. We still value our day 1 supporters as much as our new clients. This is just the beginning.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a photographer, videographer, director, editor, producer, content creator, and so much more. I just love to live in the moment. I love capturing images and moments that last forever. I started 5 years ago as a photographer, but I realized that I am so much more. J Crump Productions is your one-stop-shop for everything visual. Do you need models for your next video shoot? We can help. Do you need a makeup artist? We have that also. Do you need backdrops and professional lighting? We have you covered. Currently, we are shooting our biggest project yet, which is a docu-series for a popular restaurant on the Southside of Atlanta, Georgia. It details the story of a black-owned, family-operated restaurant that has been open for 15 years and continues to succeed despite the passing of Joe Douglas, a beloved husband, father, owner of the restaurant, and manager of the infamous group Frankie Beverly and Maze.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Master Your Craft: 2. Never Settle
3. Know Your Worth

When your starting out as an entrepreneur, no matter the industry, master your craft. Research how other people that are successful doing what you’re attempting to do got to where they’re at now. Mastering your craft proves your dedication and commitment. For photography and videography, you can’t escape learning your camera.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents bought me my first camera as a graduation gift. That was the real start to me chasing this passion. Without that camera, a canon T6, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. That camera has lasted me 5 years and still won’t slow down. That camera is a constant reminder of my growth.

Almost everything that’s changed the world in a positive way has been an unreasonable idea.
