Meet Alicia Figueroa

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alicia Figueroa. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Alicia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I absolutely get my work ethic from my family. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and seeing them build their own success definitely inspires me every single day. Needless to say, I knew from a very young age that I would have my own business!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I started my photography business back in 2023 when I started capturing deployment homecomings for fellow military families like us. Once I officially launched, my business quickly took off, and before I knew it, I was able to quit my full-time corporate job and focus on my business. I focused very heavily on military ceremonies and Marine Corps boot camp graduations and grew to be a recognized photographer within the military community. My current specialities are maternity sessions and, of course, military ceremonies!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Learning to run a business and manage a book of clientele was a big one- it took me a little bit of time to get a system down. Additionally, finding my vision behind the camera and honing in on that. Lastly, having a “go-getter” mindset was and still is huge for me!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Hands down- my husband. He is always thinking about new ideas for my business and ways to be even more successful! Whenever I am stuck on something or unsure, he is always ready to offer solutions and ideas.
