Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leah Hadley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Leah, thank you so much for joining us and opening up about the very personal topic of divorce. So many in the community are going through or have gone through divorce and we think hearing about how others dealt with the aftermath and managed to build a vibrant, successful life and career despite the trauma of divorce can be helpful to many who might be feeling a degree of hopelessness. So, maybe you can talk to us about how you overcame divorce?
Overcoming divorce was a journey, not a single moment. In the beginning, I was just trying to get through each day. I was caring for my kids (3 under 8), supporting my clients, and quietly holding my own pain. There was a lot of uncertainty and emotional exhaustion, but I gave myself permission to not have all the answers right away.
One of the biggest turning points was shifting my focus to what I could control. I started small. I committed to gratitude journaling every day, which helped me see the good even when things felt heavy. I took a lot of bubble baths, not just to relax, but as a simple way to create space for myself and reset my nervous system.
I leaned into structure and routines. I reached out to people I trusted. And slowly, I began to reimagine what life could look like moving forward. I stopped seeing divorce as the end of my story and started to see it as the beginning of something new.
That chapter of my life taught me about resilience, clarity, and how deeply important it is to build a life that reflects your values. It ultimately led me to the work I do today. I remarried. And I built businesses that support others through their own life transitions.
So how did I overcome divorce? With intention, grace, small daily actions, and yes, many bubble baths.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of Intentional Wealth Partners and Intentional Divorce Solutions, and my work is rooted in helping women navigate major financial transitions with clarity and confidence. Whether it’s divorce, the sale of a business, retirement, or an inheritance, I believe every woman deserves to feel empowered when it comes to her money.
What I find most special about the work we do is how holistic and personalized it is. We look beyond just the numbers. We support women as whole people, taking into account their goals, values, and emotions as they make important financial decisions.
Right now, I am especially excited about our newest offering: the Empowered Sisterhood. This community-driven membership program is designed to support women who are rebuilding their financial lives after divorce or other big transitions. It blends financial education with connection, coaching, and meaningful conversations that touch on real-life challenges and opportunities. It is the kind of resource I wish I had when I was starting over, and I am so thrilled to offer it now.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three things stand out as the most impactful in my journey: resilience, financial literacy, and community support.
Resilience was essential, especially during my divorce and the early days of rebuilding my life. It wasn’t about being strong all the time. It was about allowing myself to feel, then choosing to move forward anyway. I gave myself permission to take things one step at a time and to redefine what success looked like for me. For those early in their journey, I encourage building habits that support your emotional well-being, like journaling, practicing gratitude, or simply giving yourself space to breathe.
Financial literacy gave me a foundation when everything else felt uncertain. Understanding my money allowed me to make informed decisions, regain control, and start building the life I wanted. My advice? Start small. Learn about budgeting, saving, and what truly matters to you financially. You don’t need to be an expert overnight, but the more you learn, the more confident you’ll become.
Community support made a huge difference. Whether it was friends, mentors, or other women who had walked a similar path, having people I could turn to for encouragement and perspective kept me going. If you’re starting over, don’t try to do it all alone. Find your people. Join a group, reach out to someone you trust, or become part of a community where you feel seen and supported. That connection can be life-changing.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
The past 12 months have been a season of deep personal growth, marked by both grief and gratitude. The biggest area of growth for me has come through navigating the loss of my mom.
Losing her was one of the hardest experiences of my life. She was not just my mom, but also my sounding board, my steady presence, and one of my biggest cheerleaders. Grieving her has brought waves of emotion I couldn’t have prepared for, but it also opened up space for reflection and healing in a new way.
What truly amazed me was the outpouring of support I received from friends, colleagues, clients, and even people I didn’t know that well. I was reminded how powerful community can be, and how healing it is to feel seen and held during moments of deep pain.
Through this experience, I’ve grown in my ability to slow down and be present with my emotions instead of pushing through them. I’ve learned to ask for help more freely and to receive it without guilt. I’ve deepened my understanding of how grief and growth can coexist.
This past year reminded me that even when life brings heartbreak, it also brings connection, strength, and the chance to move forward with even more compassion for ourselves and others.
