Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mary Joy Pagsaligan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Mary Joy , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from the Bible verse: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23, NIV). This verse has guided me ever since I started working, and it reminds me to always give my very best effort in everything I do.
For me, that means showing up with integrity, consistency, and excellence—whether I’m organizing a single closet or transforming an entire home. I believe in giving 100 percent because my work is not just about creating order, but also about building trust and making a lasting difference in people’s lives. As Pastor Jamie of Brightmoor Christian Church once said, “Your work is an opportunity to bring the presence of God wherever you go.” By striving for excellence and showing kindness and compassion to my clients, I aim to reflect what it means to be a Christian worker.
Over the past four years as a professional organizer, I’ve also learned that my work ethic is shaped by discipline, respect for people’s time and space, and a genuine passion for helping others. Staying focused, detail-oriented, and committed to every project ensures that my clients feel supported and confident throughout the process.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a professional organizer who helps people reclaim their spaces, reduce stress, and create environments that truly support the way they want to live. From closets and kitchens to entire homes, I bring clarity and peace to spaces that once felt overwhelming. What I love most is seeing the transformation—not just in the home, but in the confidence and joy my clients feel afterward. My brand is built on integrity, excellence, and compassion, with a focus on lasting results. Many of my clients are business owners, and we are preparing to offer commercial office organizing to help them create workspaces that are just as functional and stress-free as their homes.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Being detail-oriented allowed me to see not just the clutter, but the systems behind it. This skill helped me create solutions that were both functional and sustainable for clients.
The second quality is patience and empathy. Organizing is often an emotional process, and these traits gave me the ability to guide clients through difficult decisions, making the experience supportive rather than stressful.
The third quality is problem-solving and creativity. Every space—and every client—is different, and developing these skills enabled me to design personalized systems that truly fit each client’s lifestyle and needs.
The advice I would give to someone just starting out is to start by practicing your eye for detail in your own home or with friends. Work on developing patience and people skills, because organizing is as much about people as it is about things. And finally, strengthen your problem-solving abilities by challenging yourself with different types of spaces—you’ll learn to adapt and think creatively with each project.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I turn to prayer and ask God for guidance and strength. I give myself permission to pause, step back, and reset so I can approach challenges with a clearer mind. Over time, I’ve also learned the value of asking for help—reminding myself that I don’t have to carry every burden alone. These practices not only ease stress but also help me move forward with peace and focus.
