We recently connected with Eileen Miles and have shared our conversation below.
Eileen, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
The mantra that has carried me through is simple yet powerful: “There is room for me.”
For so long, I compared myself to others and I was convinced they were more talented, more experienced, more worthy. But worthiness isn’t a competition and space doesn’t run out. I realized I don’t have to shrink or prove myself to belong. My voice, my vision, and my offerings matter simply because I exist. I’ve learned when I share my voice, I share my light.
And here’s the truth: space isn’t something we’re given—it’s something we step into and something we own. There is infinite room for all of us…for our insights, our stories, our hearts. No one else can bring what you bring in the way only you can. That’s why there is, and always will be, room for me (and you!)

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What I do is rooted in creating spaces for people to come home to themselves through meditation, learn how to be kind to their mind, and heal their relationship with themselves. Over the years, I’ve built a growing community on Insight Timer, where I share guided meditations that focus on nervous system regulation, self-compassion, and learning to trust yourself, all while returning to the present moment. What excites me most is seeing how meditation can help you take back your life by not only calming the mind, but also giving people the courage to show up more authentically and live the reality of their dreams.
Alongside guiding my own community, I lead a 12 week virtual Meditation Teacher Training that helps others discover their voice as guides. So often new teachers lean on scripts, thinking that’s the “right” way to lead, but what I’ve found is that the most powerful meditations come from the heart. My training is designed to help people know what they have to say matters, hold space with confidence and guide intuitively—so they can bring their own unique voice to the world of meditation.
My next Meditation Teacher Training is September 2026. I only take 10 students, so it’s very personable and we send an entire kit filled with the microphone you need to learn how to record, edit, and upload high quality meditations to Insight Timer!
The Meditation Teacher Training really is a transformative and healing experience for people to feel confident in their voice and gifts. It’s so beautiful to witness.
In addition to virtual teaching, I co-lead transformative retreats and workshops both locally in Michigan and internationally, with an upcoming Peru retreat in 2026 (!!) These immersive experiences are designed to help participants reconnect to themselves through meditation, movement, and reflection, all within a supportive and nurturing environment. Retreats provide a unique opportunity to step away from daily life, explore mindfulness practices more deeply, and integrate tools for self-compassion and presence. Whether near home or across the globe, these gatherings are about creating space for people to return to their true essence, cultivate inner peace, and step into their lives with clarity and courage.
Whether through a meditation on Insight Timer or in the sacred container of my teacher training, my mission is always the same: to help people heal within so they can help others heal.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are resiliency, humility, and vulnerability.
Resiliency taught me how to keep going when things felt uncertain or overwhelming. There were so many moments I wanted to give up, but each time I chose to take one small step forward, I built a little more strength and trust in myself. An impactful business isn’t built in a day. It takes patience, persistence, and the courage to keep going because if you stop trying, it will never happen.
Humility and vulnerability taught me that no one relates to perfection. The times I tried to appear like I had it all figured out, I felt the most disconnected. The real breakthroughs came when I was honest about my struggles, shared openly, and let myself be seen as human. That’s when people connected the most deeply with me.
And finally, learning to reach out and ask for help was a game changer. We aren’t meant to do this alone. Seeking guidance, surrounding myself with mentors, and being part of supportive communities gave me the clarity and encouragement to keep growing.
For anyone early in their journey, my advice would be this: Don’t be afraid to fall and get back up, don’t hide behind perfection, and don’t walk the path alone. Lean into your resilience, lead with honesty, and reach out for support. You can and must keep going.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal student in the Meditation Teacher Training is someone with a growth mindset. Someone willing to step into the unknown and discover their voice, even if it feels shaky at first. They’re open to being vulnerable, to letting themselves be seen as they practice holding space, and to trusting that imperfection is part of the journey.
They bring a light-hearted spirit to the training, finding joy in the process rather than pressure to “get it right.” They’re willing to stumble, laugh, and try again because they know that if you’re willing to be bad at something you just might become good at it.
What matters most isn’t having a polished script or sounding “perfect.” It’s leading from the heart. My ideal student is ready to connect with themselves and with others on a deeper level, to guide with authenticity, and are ready to be seen, heard, known, and felt.
My ideal client also is familiar with radical responsibility. They know that what they put into the training is what they will get out of it. They are self disciplined and they genuinely want to show up.
Those are the people who thrive in this training: open, curious, and courageous enough to show up as they are. And in doing so, they leave with the confidence to guide others in the same way with presence, heart, and authenticity.
