We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Harmony Obasi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Harmony, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I’ve always been creative and carried myself as a leader who wanted more out of life. I found my purpose by embracing every part of my journey instead of running from it. I started in civil engineering, shifted into cybersecurity, and discovered a passion for creating content that inspires people to live fully. At times, it felt like I was on two very different paths: working as an engineer while pursuing content creation. However, I came to realize that my purpose has always been the same: to use my skills and creativity to build, protect, and inspire. Over time, I understood that my purpose is rooted not only in my journey but also in my faith in God. I truly believe God placed me here with a mission: to inspire and lead like-minded men to become the best versions of themselves, for their families, their peers, and the people around them. My purpose isn’t just about me; it’s about living with intention, staying true to my values, and using my creativity and experiences to uplift others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a lifestyle, travel, fitness, and fashion creator based in Maryland, and my brand Passportgoat was born from a passion for experiencing life fully and inspiring others to do the same. What excites me most about what I do is the opportunity to create content that not only entertains but also encourages people to invest in themselves. Whether that’s through grooming, style, fitness, travel, or simply finding joy in everyday life.
I started in civil engineering, transitioned into cybersecurity, and along the way discovered the impact of storytelling through content creation. That journey shaped my brand into something more than just aesthetics; it’s about inspiring people, especially men, to live intentionally, stay true to their values, and embrace creativity.
Right now, I’m focused on building deeper connections with my community by balancing storytelling with value-driven content. I recently signed with a new talent agency, and I am looking to build that relationship and really enjoy that journey! I’m also exploring long-term partnerships with brands I authentically use and love, as well as expanding into speaking opportunities and creative collaborations that align with my purpose.
What makes my work special is that it’s grounded in authenticity. My audience sees not just curated moments but also the lessons, mindset, and discipline behind them. I want people to know that Passportgoat isn’t just about travel, it’s about lifestyle, growth, and living with intention.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: discipline, creativity, and faith. Discipline kept me consistent through the ups and downs—whether in school, content creation, or building my business. Creativity allowed me to see possibilities where others saw limitations, turning everyday experiences into content and finding innovative ways to share meaningful stories. It’s also opened doors to collaborate with some of the most renowned brands. Faith has been my foundation, giving me clarity, purpose, and the confidence to keep pushing forward, even when the path is uncertain.
For anyone early in their journey: develop discipline by showing up daily, even when motivation wanes; nurture creativity by staying curious and embracing new experiences; and ground yourself in something bigger than yourself, whether that’s faith, purpose, or vision. Together, these three will keep you moving forward, no matter the challenges.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The people who’ve been most helpful in my journey are those I’ve observed and admired online, along with God, who has been my ultimate guide. Watching others succeed has taught me how to stay disciplined, be creative, and approach challenges strategically. God has given me clarity, strength, and confidence to keep moving forward, even when the path is uncertain. Learning from these examples, combined with my faith, has helped me develop the skills, qualities, and mindset I needed to grow and succeed.
