Meet Tyrone Brown

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyrone Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tyrone, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by simply expressing myself. Being true to my craft and the purpose behind it. Whenever I’m feeling like the world is against me or heartbreak I pick up my camera and insist that my creativity will never die.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a photographer. Born in Charleston, South Carolina. Currently residing in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

I think it’s special to capture moments for people, especially other creators because, well – they’re creating so it’s a little difficult to orchestrate that. That’s where I come in. It’s also just as meaningful to do a family photoshoot or weddings. Just being there and making sure everyone is presented in a clean way.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Overtime just dealing with different individuals with photography you kind of learn what people are looking for. I just recently moved to a new place with a different style and I had to acquiesce if I wanted to create effectively. So I would say being humble is important, can’t ever believe you are bigger than the program. Every and anyone can purchase a camera.

Communication is a huge skill to have. Listening and responding effectively. Being a male photographer in 2025, one complaint from a client and you could damage your reputation and become “canceled” so it’s important to communicate with everyone respectfully and just be pure in your interactions.

I’ve had a camera around my neck for about 7 years now, when I first picked it up everyone would tell me “you have to choose a lane” – basically putting myself in a box. My lane is not being inside of a box. Things inspire me daily, by the minute. Seconds even. So putting myself in a box is counterproductive, I like to capture any and everything. People, places – meaningful moments. Once I realized that, and created with that in mind, people don’t tell me put myself in a box anymore.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Collaboration is one my favorite things in this life we live in. Businesses, small local businesses, family functions, art events are always needing a photographer and I’m (most of the time) available. I love meeting people who are passionate about anything, people who enjoy being themselves. I normally work with artist and local businesses but a dream/goal of mine is to do a lookbook shoot for Supreme or I’d love to do an interview with Charlamagne a radio host and TV personality from my hometome, Charleston.

Anyone looking to collab can find me on Instagram @clean.images or my youtube channel (Tyrango)
