We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maryssa Anne. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maryssa below.

Hi Maryssa , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Do we ever?

I think that anyone who pushes themselves every day and wants to execute their art at a high level will always feel imposter syndrome at some level.

I will say that over the years I have learned to take this feeling that once made me feel shame or embarrassment and use it as a motivator to fine tune my skills and constantly improve.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Professionally, I’m focused on my career as both a tattoo artist and fine artist. Tattooing is where my passion and my purpose meet—it allows me to create something that is not only visually beautiful but also deeply personal and meaningful to the person wearing it. I specialize in large-scale color and black-and-gray tattoos, with a focus on portraiture and realism. What excites me most about this work is the chance to capture detail, emotion, and story in a way that becomes a permanent part of someone’s life. Every piece I create is a collaboration, and that trust is something I hold with the highest respect.

Travel has always been a huge part of my dream as an artist, and I’m grateful that my work gives me the opportunity to do it. Tattooing has taken me beyond my home base, allowing me to connect with clients and fellow artists in new places and cultures. Each destination brings fresh inspiration and pushes me to keep evolving creatively.

Looking ahead, I’m especially excited about the year to come. Over the next year, I’ll be tattooing in England, Spain, Belgium, Taiwan, and across the United States. These opportunities mean the world to me—not only because I get to share my work with new audiences, but also because I get to learn from different artistic communities and bring that experience back into everything I create.

What I think is most special about my work is not just the final piece, but the experience itself. I want every client to feel comfortable, heard, and excited about the process. Tattoos are more than art—they’re identity, memory, and empowerment—and being part of that transformation is the greatest privilege of my career.

At the end of the day, what I want readers to know about me and my brand is that I’m fully dedicated to my craft, committed to my clients, and always striving to grow. My goal is to create meaningful, lasting art that people are proud to carry with them for a lifetime and to share that passion with the world, one destination at a time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Number one is truly listening to others around you. I spent the early years of my career just trying to figure things out and when I opened up to the idea of community and collaboration, the knowledge gates opened I started growing so quickly!

Number two is practice. I’m 8 years in and still learning and practicing new techniques all of the time! The world is changing so fast and as professionals we all need to practice and grow!

Third and not least is learn to celebrate the small victories. The larger your following grows, the more you become successful, and the better you get at your job, just means more pressure and larger goals! Really take the time to acknowledge each milestone or you will find yourself burnt out and unhappy.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m always on the search for amazing clients who enjoy travel and are willing to get tattooed at conventions around the world! I love to experience new cultures, cuisines, and experiences all around the world. If you’d like to get tattooed and visit some amazing places, send me an email and let’s go on an adventure!
