Meet Gina McGowan Cade

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gina McGowan Cade. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Gina , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Did I overcome my imposter syndrome? There are days I fight through it.

Let me explain how I go through Imposter Syndrome:
During those times I want to implement something new – I almost immediately regret it.
One morning after waking, I got out of bed and seriously thought, “I can’t do this!”
First of all, the word, “Can’t” should not be a thought, even when the work seems too much and I feel like I’m over my head as I bring it all together. As Trinity grows, I like to implement the new, like we are a large company with many different departments. However, when that means I will be doing the talking, reviewing, and transforming from the old to the new idea.

I must remind myself quickly, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Even today when I become overwhelmed with customer service, reviewing, proofreading, and quality control, I ask myself, “Can I do this?” I have done it for seven years, what’s different now? That’s when I keep moving forward. It won’t always be this way – my help has arrived!

So, to answer the question, I overcome imposter syndrome by not allowing the thoughts to weigh me down. When a thought comes up, I quickly dismiss it and move forward. Next!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
Trinity’s ideal clients are those who would like to publish a book for the first or 20th time. They have a story to tell, maybe have professional expertise in an area that will help others, or would like to become a professional writer in a certain genre.
