We’re looking forward to introducing you to Latasha Horn. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Latasha , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I love to wake up to slow peaceful mornings. The first 90 minutes of my day starts with coffee and moments of meditation and prayer. This is where I have time to think, talk to God and clear my mind before beginning my work day! I also enjoy morning walks. When I have the time I try to take a mindful walk and listen to worship to set the tone for my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Latasha Horn, and I’m an author, speaker, and community leader with a deep passion for restoration and reconciliation. Through my writing and work with Proclaim Church, I create spaces for people who have experienced hurt, disappointment, or disillusionment—especially within faith communities—to rediscover hope and wholeness.
What makes my brand unique is that it’s born from lived experience. I know firsthand what it feels like to be broken by people, but healed by God. My story isn’t just theory—it’s a testimony that speaks to those who may feel forgotten, scattered, or silenced. My newly released book, What The Church Doesn’t Say – Scattered Sheep, Scattered Souls, is more than pages; it’s a call to healing for those who have walked away from the church, but not from God.
Right now, I’m excited about this book launch and about building platforms where faith, authenticity, and community can thrive together. My mission is simple: to give voice to the brokenhearted, to help restore trust in God, and to remind people that they are never too far gone to be reconciled back to Him.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Growing up I thought my voice was a problem. I was told I was too bold, too blunt, too confrontational — and I internalized that as something to hide. Over time I realized those same traits were actually gifts: I’m a free thinker who refuses to stay silent when things are wrong, and I lead with the kind of courage that makes others uncomfortable because it challenges the status quo. That shift changed everything for me — it turned shame into strength and shaped my work helping people reclaim their voices and find healing.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me something success never could: humility and compassion. When you’ve walked through hard seasons, you begin to see people differently. You realize that behind every smile, there may be a story of struggle. Behind every strong face, there may be pain you can’t see. My suffering made me slower to judge, quicker to listen, and intentional about treating people with kindness, because you never know what burdens they’re carrying. Success doesn’t always teach you that, but suffering humbles you and softens your heart in ways that shape how you move in the world.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I refuse to be polished in public and broken in private. Integrity matters to me—I live and lead without contradiction. What you see is who I am: unapologetically real. honest, transparent, and sincere. I don’t have room for phoniness—only authenticity.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my role, and my possessions, I would still be me—because those things never defined me in the first place. Who I am at my core is enough. We live in a society obsessed with titles and positions, where identity and worth are measured by accomplishments. But titles, roles, and possessions can all vanish in a moment. They don’t determine my value. My validation doesn’t come from what I have or what I do, but from who I am and Whose I am. Even stripped of everything, I remain whole, authentic, and present.
