An Inspired Chat with Doneida Simpson of Northern Virginia USA

Doneida Simpson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Doneida , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Open my eyes and give thanks to God for a new day ..
While I struggle to keep my eyes open I scroll through messages and TikTok to wake me up
Once I’m awake I do my morning devotion for about 10-15mins after which I lay in bed going through emails
Then it’s finally time to face the music and get out of bed and do my 10mins morning yoga or workout (after I wash my face and brush my teeth of course)
Then I drink water and prepare breakfast which is only coffee sometimes but I’ve been trying to do better with that ☺️
Now it’s time for me to get my shower do my hair and makeup and get dressed for work – my favorite part of the day

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Doneida but I go by V’Dezdra- that’s my brand name ..
I am many things, a believer, mother, professional to name a few and the reason I’m being interviewed right now – I’m a fashion designer.
I recently added YouTuber to my resume and with my channel I showcase my talent in not only designing but styling as well
I’m a fashion enthusiast so I gives me joy to share what I love with others

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
God ..
He knew me before I was formed in my mothers womb and He had plans for me before I could even catch on
And so everyday I draw closer to Him so I can walk into my purpose

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Hmm this is a hard question. What I will say is that I am a very open and trusting person and I have experienced betrayal that truly hurt and if it wasn’t for God I would t have experienced healing and I am so grateful to Him for turning even that hard experience into a beautiful lesson and blessing

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my mom, she is a beautiful woman of God who loves her family dearly and who is gracious to all.
She is down to earth, well read and a real problem solver. She brings light and joy to all around her and she loves herself and others

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Hmm I feel sometimes I’m misunderstood and so I pray that when I’m gone people would have by then truly understood that I’m a just a God-fearing woman with a good heart who is hard working, ambitious and kind
I love love and family
And I live peaceably with all
I want people to talk about my gifts that I gracefully shared with them .. my music & my designs
I want them to know that I endured a lot (mostly silently) but I never gave up because I knew that God had so much more for me and I knew with His help I could do anything and I did
