Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Celina Phoenix of Barbados

We recently had the chance to connect with Celina Phoenix and have shared our conversation below.

Celina, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is all about balance. From checking orders first thing in the morning, answering customers messages, updating the website with new arrivals, to packing orders. In between, there’s content creating, promoting on social media, and planning the next drop. Every day is busy, but so rewarding seeing customers happy in there outfits.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
From trendy fits to stylish bags and the cutest press on nails, we got everything you need to level up your look. If your looking for something cute, you’ll always find it right here.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents always taught me that nothing in life comes easy, you have to work hard, stay consistent, and never give up. That lesson shaped me into who I am today and pushed me to build my business from the ground up. Their words remind me daily hard work truly pays off, and that’s what I’m able to call my business a success.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There were times I almost gave up on my business days when it felt too hard, too overwhelming, and I questioned if it was worth it. But I pushed through, kept believing in myself, and now I’m so glad I didn’t quit. Every step, every challenge made me stronger, and today I can proudly say I’m still standing and growing.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the fashion industry is that success happens overnight. The truth is, it takes long days, late nights, consistency, and passion to build something real. Behind every “effortless” brand is years of hard work and dedication.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I know my customers would miss more than just the clothes, bags and nails they miss the love, care and personality behind every order. The unique finds, the little details, and the consistency that made shopping with me feel special that’s what they’d truly miss.
