David Gibbs of Spring Hill on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with David Gibbs and have shared our conversation below.

Hi David, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Consistency in my business. It has been a lot of hard work and discipline but it is needed and it helps me serve others well.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Coach David Gibbs, a Money and Career Coach dedicated to helping people create a future they can be proud of. This year marks seven years in this work, and during that time I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of individuals and families toward financial stability, career growth, and long-term success. My role is not just about numbers on a page—it’s about helping clients build the discipline, confidence, and “mind muscles” needed to face their future with clarity and purpose.
My own journey into coaching began in 2017, after my family completed our debt free journey. Walking through that process firsthand taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, intentionality, and the freedom that comes from taking control of your finances. It wasn’t always easy, but the transformation we experienced changed the trajectory of our lives—and inspired me to share what I had learned with others.
Today, I combine those personal lessons with professional coaching strategies to help my clients not only improve their financial situation but also understand themselves better. Each plan I create is customized, designed to empower people to become students of their own strengths, habits, and goals. Whether it’s managing money, advancing in a career, or building a vision for the future, my mission is to walk alongside clients as they move from uncertainty to confidence.
Beyond coaching, I’m also a husband and proud father of two. Family is a core part of who I am, and it fuels my passion for helping others build strong, lasting foundations in both life and work. At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: with the right tools, guidance, and mindset, anyone can break free from limitations and achieve the dreams they’ve always wanted.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
When I was in high school, I worked a job where I met a gentleman named Jimmy. He was probably in his 30s, and he didn’t need the job—he was just there to earn a little extra money. What stood out about Jimmy wasn’t only his work ethic but the way he went about his business. He was constantly encouraging me, speaking life into me, and giving me confidence in a season when I hadn’t heard many of those kinds of words before.
To this day, I couldn’t repeat every single thing he said, but I remember the feeling—the way his encouragement made me believe I was capable of more. That experience stuck with me, and it’s become a core part of who I am. Now, in my own life and career, I strive to be that same source of encouragement for others. Just like Jimmy did for me, I want to lift people up, remind them of their potential, and give them the confidence to chase after the future they’ve dreamed of.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The defining wound in my life was growing up without a financial education. I didn’t start out with the knowledge or guidance I needed, so I had to learn everything about managing money on my own. It has taken years of effort and experience, but one of the most powerful ways I’ve healed is by helping others learn, grow, and achieve their goals.
Over the years, I’ve coached mothers, fathers, couples, men, and women of all ages. There’s something profoundly healing and rewarding about serving others—and that is at the heart of everything I do as a coach.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. 🙂 Too hard to do anything else.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Hmmmm I do my best to live each day like it is my last so I can’t think of anything. If I do, then I’m going to stop it tomorrow! We have to remember that today is a gift and that is why it is called the present.
