Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Veronica Rogers of Bullhead City

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Veronica Rogers. Check out our conversation below.

Veronica , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
“I truly love working on my clothing line—it’s my passion. Being able to weave my own artwork into the designs brings me an incredible sense of accomplishment and meaning. My brand is called Care Wear, Mindful Fashion, and within it, I’ve created several collections, including one that’s especially close to my heart: Love in Action. That collection was born out of purpose and resilience after the loss of my oldest daughter, who passed away on December 4, 2019. It represents the healing power of creativity and the idea of transforming grief into something that can inspire and uplift others.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Veronica Rogers, and while I’ve spent much of my career working as an editor, my true passion has always been creating. In recent years, that passion has grown into something deeply personal—my own clothing label, Care Wear, Mindful Fashion.

This brand is more than just fashion to me; it’s about the healing power of creativity. In 2019, I lost my oldest daughter, Ashley, in a tragedy that left me completely shattered. I didn’t know how I was going to move forward, or even how to live again. Slowly, I began to rediscover life through my artwork. That creative process not only helped me heal, but it also began to resonate with others who were navigating their own journeys through grief. Alongside this, I began my sobriety journey, and today I am proud to have two years and almost five months of sobriety from alcohol.

What started as a way to survive has become my purpose: keeping Ashley’s spirit alive by inspiring others. Through Care Wear, Mindful Fashion, I strive to transform loss into something meaningful—garments that carry love, strength, and the reminder that even in grief, beauty and hope can be found. My sobriety has given me the focus and determination to walk this path with resilience, proving that healing is possible in more ways than one.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Honestly, several relationships shaped me into the person I am today—my mother, my father, a few of my step-fathers, and my three marriages. Along the way, I’ve also been blessed with many friendships, wonderful teachers, and even a temporary foster mom I will never forget. Each of these relationships, though sometimes difficult, taught me how to navigate different personalities and stressful situations. Looking back, I can see how every connection, every choice, and even my decision to embrace sobriety, molded me into the woman I’ve become.

Today, I see myself as confident, honest, integral, reliable, beautiful, educated, intelligent, well-versed, accountable, assertive, balanced, attentive, and above all, loving.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Losing my oldest daughter tragically has caused the worst suffering I have ever gone through. I am continuing to learn that grief is my biggest teacher. It has a way of breaking you open, stripping away everything you thought you knew about life, love, and even yourself. In its shadow, I’ve discovered depths of pain I never imagined possible, but also a tenderness of spirit I didn’t know I carried. Grief has taught me that tears are not a sign of weakness, but rather a manifestation of love with no place to go. It has taught me that healing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means carrying my daughter with me in every step, every design, every moment of resilience.

It has given me perspective—reminding me what truly matters and encouraging me to live with intention, purpose, and love. Above all, it has inspired me to transform my pain into something that not only keeps Ashley’s memory alive but also uplifts others who are walking their own path through loss.

And just like my grief, my sobriety has been one of my greatest teachers. Both have shown me that growth is born through struggle, and that even the darkest seasons can reveal light, love, and resilience.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is not the whole truth. To the outside world, I appear strong, composed, and well-versed—someone who has it all together. But behind closed doors, when no one is watching, the tears come. Those are the moments when I am most transparent, speaking to God and to my daughter’s spirit, allowing myself to feel the weight of my grief. It’s in that private space that I am most shattered, most real. The world sees resilience, but what they don’t always see is the raw, tender heart that carries both unimaginable pain and unshakable love.

It’s also in those quiet moments that I reflect on my sobriety—the courage it has taken to break free from alcohol and the peace I feel in choosing clarity every day. The world sees resilience, but what they don’t always see is the raw, tender heart that carries both unimaginable pain and unshakable hope.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When my time here is done, I hope to leave behind a legacy of perseverance, strength, and positivity. I want my life to stand as proof that even in the face of heartbreak, it is possible to create beauty, purpose, and change. My wish is to be remembered not for the pain I endured, but for how I transformed that sadness into growth, success, and a renewed sense of freedom. If my journey can inspire others to rise from their own struggles with hope and resilience, then I will have fulfilled my purpose.
