We’re looking forward to introducing you to Samantha Marie Saglibene. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Recently, I have had the ability and luxury of being able to spend the first 90 minutes of my day meditating, doing yoga, or ballet, and having a slow start to my day without the use of my phone. It really has an impact on my day, and just being more intentional with using technology and the media I consume.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
This is my current artist bio!
Samantha Marie Saglibene, an American singer-songwriter coming from a small town in Florida, moved to LA in 2021. Writing poetry, and songwriting most of her life bleeds into her solo and co-writes. Renowned for her distinctive songwriting style, which evolves from her first release of “When You’re Not There”, to “Strawberry Sensation” to “shapeshifting”, bringing her to over two million global streams, her artistic journey, noting mental health obstacles, personal experiences, and poetic writing background, become a force.
Receiving notable recognition, featured in publications such as EarMilk, Metal Magazine, Flaunt, and more.
Her debut album, “Summers”, was met with acclaim, Office Magazine describing it as an introspective exploration of life’s complexities. Samantha released the deluxe edition of “Summers”, “Summers Remixes”, and a celebrated release of six live tracks in an EP, “Live At Clearlake Studios”, with a bonus track recorded at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles.
2024 has showed distinctive work, with her second studio album, “shapeshifting”, that released October 18th, an introspective short film music video for “things I do”, an introduction inter her oil on canvas work, and “candy cane”, her first indie holiday track.
Moving to Brooklyn, New York City, in the Summer of 2025, Samantha is producing her self-titled album, set to release in 2026. She is actively painting, performing, and writing, continuing to share her art with the world.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Through meditation practice, I have seen a lot of thought patterns that were rooted in economic and social aspects of my life get to be questioned for the first time, such as senses of safety and how I provide those for myself in ways other than the typical forms, such as financial and societal successors.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yes-and I will never forget it. it was during a talk therapy session, and the ways that her active listening, and knowing someone had heard my story have changed my life, are truly amazing.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
This is such an interesting question ad allows us to explore the theme of being seen, and the different ways we are seen, and portrayed by others. I would like to think that being my friend in person is a much different experience than viewing photos on Instagram. However, in ways that my music and lyrics can reach people, I hope to touch them in ways that make them feel heard and understood, as my music follows themes of the human experience.
I hope to work towards being more vulnerable on social media, regardless.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What pain do you resist facing directly?
I am trying to work on letting myself feel pain, and not resisting it so much. Growing up in America, often I was taught that pain should be avoided, and that we should strive for constant happiness, but that just isn’t the reality of the human experience. Recently, studying from a Buddhist philosophy standpoint, allowing ourselves to feel pain, with compassion and acceptance instead of rejecting it and hiding from it, can be of benefit. Pain is a part of our lives, and a quote I really enjoy is “we can cut all of the flowers, but we cannot stop Spring from coming”.
