Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Amanda Chase of Dallas, Texas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Amanda Chase. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I am most proud of the intentionality I’ve put toward my personal and spiritual development over the past year. I’ve invested in coaching and mentorships that have strategically helped me become more equipped to regulate my emotions, face my fears, deepen my connection to Source/Creator, and connect with both my higher and younger self—all as a means of living a more truthful and embodied life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the Founder of Substance, a platform that empowers conscious female visionaries to create lives and businesses of substance. My favorite part of my brand is our newest offering, The Business of Substance—a 12-week hybrid coaching program that combines over nine years of experience helping world-class clients turn their dreams into viable businesses with my personal journey as a conscious entrepreneur. We are the place where people go to consciously create the things they desire in their life–if you have a dream, we’re here to help you make it happen. We also have a print publication that’s slated to come out in the future as well!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was the line leader in kindergarten. I’ve always been a leader—quiet, confident, and fearless. There have been times in my life when I doubted myself, when fear crept in, and when challenges pushed me to my limits, but at my core, I’ve always been that strong, independent little girl. When times are tough, I remember that part of myself, rise to the challenge, and keep going.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
Passion alone isn’t enough to keep a business going. You have to be honest with yourself about how you’re going to make money and sustain it—especially if it’s your dream and passion—because otherwise, you’ll end up working a 9-to-5 in a job you don’t love. Being honest about whether you can make a business work isn’t for the faint of heart; it’s for those willing to get their hands dirty, pivot, evolve, and keep going even when times are tough.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I believe our souls choose our parents, our life path, and the lessons we are meant to learn in this lifetime. I also believe we can learn so much from the unseen world—through our intuition, signs from the universe, and the magical moments all around us—if we choose to see the world that way.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I act in accordance with my feelings and intuition, keep promises to myself, care for my body, mind, and spirit, do the brave thing, and connect with aligned women on the journey of their conscious, creative lives. And, of course, speaking my truth to the world.
