Frances Ledgewood’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Frances Ledgewood. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Frances, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
I absolutely love watching my children play sports! My daughter is the first baseman for her softball team and my son plays second base for his baseball team – I love seeing them have such a passion for sports!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Frances Ledgewood, the owner and creative director of Ledgewood Fine Stationery. For the past 10 years, I’ve had the joy of designing heirloom wedding stationery that reflects the beauty of a couple’s love story. My work blends Southern hospitality, faith, and timeless artistry to create invitations that are more than paper—they’re keepsakes that begin a marriage with meaning and elegance.

What makes Ledgewood unique is the heart behind the paper. Every suite is crafted with care, often featuring details like letterpress, engraving, or gold foil, so that families can treasure them for years to come. Alongside serving brides and planners across the country, I’m also passionate about mentoring other stationers. Right now, I’m preparing for our first Ledgewood Fine Stationery Collective, a luxury retreat designed to encourage, equip, and inspire fellow creatives in the wedding stationery world.

It’s an honor to do this work, and I’m continually grateful for the chance to create pieces that carry so much love and meaning.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My business coach, Candice Coppola, has been the one to see me clearly before I could see myself. We’ve shared so many “heart to hearts,” and I’ll never forget when she once said, “Maybe you’re already there, Frances.” That really stopped me in my tracks. I work so hard, day in and day out, that I rarely pause to look at how far I’ve come. Her words reminded me to see and celebrate the journey.

There’s a saying, “You once prayed for what you have today,” and I feel that so deeply. God has been so faithful to provide and guide me, and I’m grateful for where I am and the path still unfolding.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be to have confidence in yourself and trust that you are capable. Don’t be afraid to invest not only in who you are, but also in your business—through education, mentorship, and guidance from a business coach. Pouring back into your business and growth is just as important as the work itself, and it will carry you further than you can imagine.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies our industry tells itself is found in the highlight reel of social media. What you see online often looks effortless, but behind the scenes, wedding professionals are pouring their blood, sweat, tears, and countless hours into their work. Another misconception is that our industry is “overpriced.” In reality, most of us are working tirelessly just to keep the lights on and care well for our employees.

What people don’t always see is that running a business isn’t just about producing a beautiful product—it also requires investment in education, programs, tools, and team members. The truth is, this industry is full of hard-working people who are deeply committed to excellence and to serving their clients with care.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I was deeply passionate about my craft, that I poured my heart into creating beauty through paper. More importantly, I hope they remember me as someone full of light and joy for the Lord, and as a wife and mother who loved her family well.
