We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael Terry. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michael below.
Michael, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from the fact that every breath we take is a blessing. I can’t believe that I’m here to be interviewed by you and this will reach people from all over the world. I’m just a guy that works extremely hard everyday and is trying to brighten the lives of everyone I come into contact with. I believe that “LOVE” really is the answer to all of life’s questions. My art always reflects love.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Creativity is always my main focus. Expressing one’s self to the world through art encompasses all aspects of our lives. Everything we touch or see is something that someone took the time to design and left a piece of themselves with it. I am highly aware and constantly growing to be the best version of myself as a human being who cares for and respects others in a helpful and loving way.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Never give up and never care what other people say or think. Listening to the opinions of people that you respect sometimes is less helpful than listening to a stranger who has already gone through it themselves. Most people think that their friends and family have all the answers and in some cases they do… but most often their responses are tailored to protect you from failure. Failure in most cases is the best teacher.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Both my parents were amazing people. I wouldn’t be here without them of course. They taught me on a daily basis that actions speak louder than words. Give God All The Glory, have a strong work ethic, be trustworthy and honest. And when you’ve done all those things there’s still no guarantee that life will go your way. If that happens you rinse and repeat but never give up.
