Meet Artist Love

We recently connected with Artist Love and have shared our conversation below.

Artist, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Honestly, through my art: photography, dance, film, writing, music. My purpose is to create: art, businesses, community, etc. It makes up my entire being. When I create, I’m in my element, the fire in my drive is ignited, I’m at peace. I love sharing that with others; it brings so much peace, love, and positivity. I’m still learning to BE in my purpose – it’s not an easy task – and everyday I’m learning more of life and understanding it and where i belong.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have a vision of a world designed by kreatives: a group of people who want to grow together through art, community, and understanding. Too often, artists compete and compare against one another in an effort to be the best and put others down while at it. We all want to express ourselves creatively so why the fight against each other? This brings upon the imposter syndrome, making a lot of us feel like we aren’t enough, our art isn’t enough, we’ll never be anything with it. But that’s all a false reality. We ARE enough. Kreative, YOU ARE ENOUGH. Your art is enough! It’s you. We convince ourselves that we have to be like everyone else or be this or that when in reality, we need to just BE.
I want to show other artists that, so we can all grow and win together in a world that labels us struggling and not enough, and I am doing that through my art. I don’t know everything, nor will I act like it. I’m learning just as everyone else is. But if we learn together, we all gone eat.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d say the first, is to believe in yourself. It’s hard to in this world, not gone lie, but it is possible. And it is so worth it. When you believe in yourself, you can do whatever you put your mind to. A second, is to express yourself. Whether its verbally or through a creative outlet or any other outlet, express yourself. Holding in everything only makes things worse for you. I got to the point before where all I did was keep how i was feeling inside and it broke me completely. I never wanted to feel that way again so I learned how to express myself – and still learning.
And finally, create. You are ART. Show the world your creations, your uniqueness, your differences, your views, your story. 🙂

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes! I actually host kreative kickbacks where we all our having fun, creating. I’ve done some before as photoshoots, and am planning the next ones – them being kreative sessions of all kinds, allowing people to meet new artists, express themselves freely, and have fun! If that’s you, follow me on Instagram at @thatboyart_ That’s where all the info for my kreative endeavors will be!
