Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lance Rousseau. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lance, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
My secret is knowing when to turn it off. I used to spend all my energy chasing creative moments, which only led to burnout and mental blocks. Now, whenever inspiration strikes, I jot it down in my notes app and return to it later when I’m ready to explore it. Many of the intellectual properties I’ve developed began as sudden bursts of inspiration. For example, my comic book series Grizmok Deli grew out of late nights spent mopping the floors of a local deli where I worked. Sometimes it really is that simple. The real trick is learning to unplug and spend time doing things outside of the creative process

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Lance Rousseau, and I’m the founder of 10 Remsen Entertainment, a publisher dedicated to creator-driven titles. Our IPs push the boundaries of visual storytelling and deliver dynamic, engaging narratives to audiences worldwide. Last month, we launched our first coloring book, Ralphie’s Calling. It’s a fun and imaginative project that introduces kids to different careers while giving them the freedom to be creative through coloring. My hope is that it sparks curiosity and inspires young readers to start thinking about all the amazing things they can become. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and other online retailers.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Dedication, Mastery, and Innovation. Growing up, I spent my summers immersed in the works of the great masters of fine art, film, and television. While others were out partying, I was in my room drawing, painting, writing, and pushing my imagination forward. Over time, I honed my skills to a level that surprised both my peers and teachers. I learned early on that true success comes from putting in the work, staying disciplined, and striving to go beyond expectations. That mentality continues to drive everything I create today.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
Simple. Believe in me. My mother has always been my biggest supporter. When I was younger, she made sure I had every art supply I needed to create. She took my brothers and me to any movie we wanted to see, encouraging us to expand our imaginations. She gave us the space, both mentally and physically, to explore creativity in every part of our lives. To this day, my early artwork still hangs in her home, a reminder of the foundation she built for me.
