Meet Adelphine Yema

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adelphine Yema. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adelphine below.

Adelphine, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my faith in Jesus Christ. This world is spiritual, and even though we can’t see in the physical what’s happening in the spiritual, I know so much is taking place. That truth is what keeps me strong and keeps me going is God.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My work is about expressing myself in ways that many people don’t use their own voice, and I hope that by watching me, they’re inspired to do the same. I showcase my authenticity by simply being who I am—sometimes it’s not about achievements, but about the person behind them. I let my talents speak for themselves while also revealing other parts of myself through vulnerability, embracing the humanity I have to offer.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

For those early in their journey, my advice would be: cultivate resilience by leaning on your faith or support system; embrace authenticity by being unapologetically yourself, even if it feels vulnerable; and commit to lifelong learning by staying curious, observing, and applying what you discover. Growth comes when you combine persistence with self-awareness and a willingness to evolve. No matter what, you can never be like anyone else. All the jealousy and comparing only steals the time you could spend showing what makes you unique. If you’re struggling with this, take time to look inward—ask yourself questions, spend time alone, and step away from trying to fit in everywhere you go.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Yes, I’m always open to collaborating with people who inspire, challenge, and elevate creativity and purpose. I’m drawn to artists, performers, pastors, creators, and leaders who are authentic, visionary, and passionate about making an impact—whether through the Bible, art, storytelling, performance, or social influence. Some people who inspire me and whom I deeply admire include Joshua Selman, Philip Anthony Mitchell, Jackie Hill-Perry, Megan Ashley, Zendaya, Ciara, Maya Angelou, Michelle Obama, Olivia Dean, Marsai Martin, Fatima Robinson, Jamaica Craft, Simone Biles, and Yara Shahidi. The list goes on, and I would love to meet them in the future
