Dora, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. With my anxiety, I am constantly questioning my next move or decision in life and as an entrepreneur. My depression comes into play when I feel like I am stuck, an unsuccessful entrepreneurial attempt or I am having to be patient in business or life. Praying, cooking, reading my Bible, and exercising are my things that keep my anxiety and depression down.
But getting up not worrying about the “what ifs”, the lack of money, the “why’s every morning and all day has definitely helped me move past my depression and anxiety. Remembering that nothing or no one is perfect has helped me more than anything tho

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hello,
My name is Chef Dora Tramel. I am an entrepreneur in Fort Worth, Texas. I have an egg roll and catering business, both focus on cultural cuisine and spreading love through food.
I am looking to acquire sponsorship for my tv pilot/cooking show on Eat This Tv network.
My resume includes, over 20 years of experience working in and leading kitchens in the  Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and recently being featured in the Global Who’s Who directory for my outstanding work in the hospitality field.
Over the next decade, I will be working to create a global brick and mortar franchise with both of my businesses, that will become a global brand.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Being a self starter.
When I get to work or start a project I am fired up to start. I don’t drag around until I HAVE to. I listen to my music while I organize my tasks with efficiency for the day. I avoid “cramming” my day, working alone all the time , and filling my day with meetings. This helps me to stay motivated to start a new task or a brand new day!
2. Have a thirst for knowledge.
My aunt used to tell me “knowledge is the only thing someone can not take from you” I have lost so much but have yet to completely forget it; So she was right! Everything I have learned has been a building block or tool that I can use to learn more or profit more.
3. Keep moving.
Whether I had the money, time, staff, resources or self confidence…I moved forward. Even if I was making very little profit, had no transportation, had no experience, I still did something. I applied for grants even if it was to just get my brand concept and name out there to future partners. I did my own marketing until I could hire someone. I design my own brand labels, graphics, clothing, recipes; Whatever it takes!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am looking to collaborate with local, national and global investors and partners. I am working to partner with salons, spas, barbershops and non franchised neighborhood convenience stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as a vendor with my probiotic all-natural smoked salsa and tortilla chip snack boxes.
I am looking for investors to turn my egg roll concept, DAT’s Good Egg Rolls, into a local, national and global brick and mortar franchise that sources ingredients from our own farms, processing factories and shipping warehouses.
Last but not least I need investors and partners for my cultural culinary brand/brick and mortar concept, DAT’s Good Cooking, that would showcase the cultures of the world through their foods and cooking techniques.
