Marina Girgis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Marina, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I feel that many creatives and deep souls are feeling empty chasing after the algorithm to prove themselves, to be seen and “chosen” that they are losing touch with their authentic voice, truth, depth, and creativity.
This is leaving many entrepreneurs who have a powerful message to share feeling burnt out and unenchanted and slowing killing our originality.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Born in Egypt and raised between worlds, I’m a brand doula, storyteller, coach, and world traveler who has made it my life’s purpose to help women live vivaciously (a word that is the heartbeat of my brand).
I help visionaries and leaders in business translate their depth and lived experiences into a personal brand that is felt. Over the last five years, I’ve guided over 200 clients across industries through my coaching programs, blending brand development with personal growth.
Now, I’m devoted to creating deeper, more direct impact through my in-person luxury personal branding retreats—hosted in Mexico, Greece, and soon, in my homeland of Egypt.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I love this question because I have been thinking about it quite a lot recently.
I feel that I’m coming back into essence and my personal power by releasing the idea that someone else knows. Someone else has the answers and the key to my dreams and that I need to wait for them or the perfect aligment of things to occur so that I can do the dang thing.
I’m letting go of that now and going boldly after what I want even when it feels like I don’t have all the resources, support or answers because honestly I do have it all within me…NOW
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that I will be judged and disliked.
As a recovering people pleaser, I had to understand that I wasn’t put here on earth to be everyone’s cup of tea and that is my superpower…I’m niche like that. I also always felt like I was too much, especially my sensitivity and I would try to hide behind being this strategic strong boss woman facade but now I let myself be seen in my softness, sensitivity and femininity and this has been attracting more of the right community to me.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
That in order to be authentic in your personal brand presence (even real life) you have to share everything about you and your life…
I’d take this a step further and add that people think they need to be relatable to be seen as authentic and vulnerable.
I say this is BS (in my humble but expert opinion). We don’t need to broadcast our entire lives to be seen as authentic or to play down our accomplishments to be seen as relatable. I think more of us need to share the parts of us that feel integrated and embodied with the world. Even the parts that are our highest self that might feel performative…that is still real and authentically YOU.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would hope they’d say “she showed me a different way of doing things. She helped me come into essence, my truth and power because she was a living, breathing example of a woman who is so embodied in her own power”
