An Inspired Chat with Richie Schwab

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Richie Schwab. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Richie , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me right now begins in Lake Como, Italy—a place that feels like stepping into a living postcard. I usually start with a hike along the mountain ridges, filming the sweeping views for my YouTube channel Strolltastic. Afterward, it might be an espresso at Villa d’Este in Cernobbio or wake surfing across the mirror-like waters in front of Bellagio. My mornings are about embracing the Italian way of life—exploring charming lakeside villages, immersing myself in the culture, and letting the surroundings fuel my imagination. By the afternoon, I’m in my home studio at the villa, channeling energy into some of the most powerful music I’ve ever made.
The inspiration I’ve discovered here is boundless. The cadence of life in Como—the peaks, the water, the traditions—awakens a creative depth I haven’t found anywhere else. At the same time, I balance that tranquility with my time back in the States. New Orleans anchors me with its raw soul and heritage, while Miami ignites me with its vibrant, high-energy pulse. Dividing my life between Italy and America gives me a rare dual perspective: one rooted in timeless elegance and reflection, the other charged with modern intensity. Together, they keep me evolving, both as an artist and as a person.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Richie Schwab, a DJ, producer, and storyteller at heart. I split my time between Lake Como, New Orleans, and Miami, drawing inspiration from the distinct rhythms and energies of each. My path has always been shaped by bold experiences, both creative and personal. Right now, I’m focused on pushing the boundaries of my music, creating tracks that capture the calm of Italy and the intensity of the United States. I’m also building projects that merge entertainment with innovation, because I believe art should resonate far beyond its creation. What defines my journey is the exchange between worlds—European elegance, Southern soul, and a cosmopolitan edge—and how that balance fuels new ideas and growth.

My foundation is family: my father, Richard, a devoted coach and champion for youth sports; my mother, Cathy, the anchor and heart of our home; and my two sisters, with their husbands and children, whose constant love surrounds me. Their example of giving fully inspires me to bring the same dedication to everything I create.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother, Virginia Roch, has always been one of my greatest inspirations. I grew up performing for my grandparents, and she has always told me I had it all. That simple, steadfast belief is a quiet declaration that continues to echo through every moment of my life. She makes me feel like a star even before the world knows my name, and the love and faith she gives continue to guide everything I do. Her words wrap me in possibility and fuel a fire that has carried me from performing at home to standing on massive stages and working in the best studios around the world.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust the journey and believe in your own light. That even when things feel uncertain or overwhelming, the passion and creativity inside you are enough to carry you through. I’d remind myself that mistakes aren’t failures—they’re lessons—and that every experience, every setback, is shaping the person you’re meant to become. Most importantly, I’d tell myself to embrace who I am fully, because that uniqueness is what will guide me to my greatest moments.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my grandfather, Bruce Roch, Sr. — not for his power, wealth, or accomplishments, but for the person he is at his core. While he has achieved a great deal in life, what truly inspires me are the qualities that make him human: his integrity, his humility, and his unwavering dedication to the people he loves. He has always been my role model, teaching me the value of hard work, discipline, and mental strength, but also showing me how to embrace life with curiosity, joy, and passion—whether it’s through his impressive car collection, his hobbies, or the way he finds happiness in the little moments.

What moves me most is how he treats the people around him. His love and devotion to my grandmother, his children, his extended family, and his friends show me what true character looks like. He invests in relationships with sincerity and care, and his loyalty and kindness leave a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Watching him live a life rooted in love, respect, and purpose has shaped the way I approach my own life—how I treat others, how I pursue my passions, and how I show up for the people I care about. My grandfather is more than an inspiration; he is a blueprint for the kind of person I strive to be.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
For me, peace is found in moments of full presence, when I am completely attuned to the world around me. It’s most profound when I’m creating music—when the noise of the world fades, and it’s just me and the sound, translating thought and feeling through vibrations and frequencies. It feels like syncing with a hidden pulse, a musical heartbeat that connects everything: emotion, intention, and the rhythm of life itself. In those moments, time stretches and stills at once, and I am both fully myself and part of something larger. It’s a place of quiet power, where creativity, energy, and clarity converge—a rhythm that carries me, steadies me, and reminds me of the profound harmony that exists in both art and life. This journey has given me the privilege of creating and collaborating with some of the best artists and producers, including Allan Cubas, Cory Enemy, Dallas Austin, Deezle, Donald Markowitz, Eva Ruiz, Flu Wop, Jordan Bolch, Novodar, Patrick Collier, Sam Wolfe, and Virtual Riot.
