Georgiann Honey shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Georgiann, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My husband and I took our work on the road this year and we’ve been exploring Europe and Albania. Our 10,000-steps-a-day streak has become a daily ritual—wandering parks, markets, and coffee spots. It’s a simple joy that doubles as creative fuel; I’m constantly spotting colors, patterns, and type that inspire my design work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Georgi Honey, a freelance graphic designer specializing in social and infographic design, brand identity, and scalable template systems. I help founders and teams turn complex ideas into clear, conversion-focused visuals—think social graphics, pitch presentations, proposals, case statements, and content kits that look great and actually work. My approach is strategy-first and systems-minded: I design for the long run so your team can move faster with consistent, on-brand assets. This year my husband and I took our work on the road across Europe and Albania, and that daily dose of new typography, color, and architecture keeps my work fresh and deeply inspired.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband, Cort. We married last October, and this October will be our ten-year mark together. In my vows I told him: you loved me before I could love myself. He saw the light in me—my talent, resilience, and kindness—when I was still learning to see it. His belief has been a gentle mirror and a catalyst; he championed my leap into freelancing and reminded me my eye and voice were worth betting on. I strive every day to honor the light he lit in my heart—it burns brighter with each day we share.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are not broken and you were never too much. You don’t have to carry other people’s feelings to be worthy of love. Trust your gut, and remember: the kindness you give so freely to others belongs to you, too. You’re allowed to take up space, say no, and ask for help. The voice that makes you doubt yourself isn’t the truth—your intuition is. You will find people who love you gently. You are so worth loving, exactly as you are.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to sustainability in practice, not just in principle. When timelines and sustainability compete, I advocate for lower‑impact options—FSC or recycled stocks, soy/vegetable‑based inks, efficient formats, and local printers—even if it means a longer lead time. My business runs on one motto: design for the greater good.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want to be remembered as someone who led with kindness and a peaceful steadiness. I showed up, worked hard, kept my word, and listened. I was accommodating in the best sense—making space, meeting people where they were, and finding solutions—so that the people around me felt seen, supported, and cared for.
