Jennifer Harris shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Jennifer , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My typical day is sectioned off into 3 time blocks. The first time block is in the morning I meditate, set intentions, journal for about 10-15 mins, free flow with writing whether that’s content or working on another project for 30 mins, school run, content creation, workout, school work, rest, go to work, shower, dinner and call it a night.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My life or roles tie into one. I’m working towards becoming a licensed therapist. I’m a writer, childcare coordinator, and a self development/beauty influencer. My entire brand is feel, build, and rise. Each thing that I choose to do is all about helping others to go through the motions, building their platform of their life and rising to meet themselves.
I’m currently focused on promoting my book I Gave an Ocean for Raindrops, that’s out now and can be found everywhere.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I recently just shedded this part of myself and that was being the victim. I held myself back because I didn’t know I have control of my life, the way I look at my life’s perspective. I had to thank that version of myself because if I hadn’t known better I would still be there.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Movies, books, and maladaptive daydreaming. I’m such an escapist. I still do it now when I’m sad, but it’s more so of just books and maladaptive daydreaming. But those two helps me to write and live out a fantasy.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I have nothing to hide about myself. I would say I don’t showcase my current pain if I’m experiencing that at the moment. But that’s also because I’ve trained myself so my children won’t see me in my emotions so much. I also allow myself to feel and I have no problem with showing my feelings, I’m a crier lol.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Healing is number one. It’s your job to heal for the pain you either created or didn’t create. It’s your job to birth the best version of yourself and actually see to it that person exists. I will make sure of that with who ever comes into contact with me and I with them.
