We recently had the chance to connect with Cosmin Mahadev Singh and have shared our conversation below.
Cosmin Mahadev, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I believe mornings set the tone for the entire day — they shape the trajectory of everything that follows. It’s like the start of a new cycle, and as significant as childhood is to the rest of one’s life.
My first 90 minutes are dedicated to Sadhana — my daily spiritual practice. As soon as I wake up, I set the tone by doing yogic practices from Kundalini Yoga: pranayama (breathwork), kriyas (movement), and meditation. This clears the mind and prepares me for the day ahead, helping me stay grounded and make good decisions no matter what life brings.
If someone wants to change their life, I suggest starting with their mornings — what you do right after waking up can completely shift the course of your day and, over time, your entire life. This is how I find the grit to face the day with clarity and strength.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cosmin Mahadev Singh. I’m a spiritual teacher specializing in Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, and I’m the founder of RYK Yoga and Meditation Center in Las Vegas, NV — a spiritual home for seekers in the city and beyond.
My own path — the reconnection to my true self, my real nature — started the journey that eventually inspired me to create RYK, a space where others could find tools to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves.
At RYK, we offer a wide variety of classes including yoga, meditation, pranayama, sound healing, and other holistic practices. We also host special workshops, live music events, and teacher trainings in both Kundalini Yoga and Reiki. Our center has been open for over a decade, and we’re deeply committed to supporting and growing our local community through meaningful projects.
Beyond Las Vegas, we guide students on transformative retreats in India and Bali — meditating in sacred temples, practicing yoga at sunrise, and immersing in the spiritual culture of each place. What makes RYK unique is our blend of traditional teachings tailored for the modern world — and our focus on creating a space where people can truly grow, connect, and thrive.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The key moment that completely changed how I perceive the world was when I actually saw the illusion of it all. Until then, I only knew from spiritual teachings that the world is nothing but a dream — but the moment I directly experienced it, it became the new reality.
You could call this an awakening — a shift from the unreal to the real. It felt like stepping out of the Matrix: no longer lost in it, but simply watching it while knowing my true nature and what I truly am. It’s a bit like waking up from a vivid dream and realizing that what felt so real was nothing more than a passing play — a movie.
I pray that all beings awaken to this truth and know the freedom of seeing reality as it truly is.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
At this point, time feels almost irrelevant — it only has power over the one who is still dreaming. But if I could say one kind thing to my “younger” self, I’d tell them to relax, to chill. It’s all an illusion anyway, so why stress?
You may only truly know this once you wake up to it — but I’d still whisper it as a gentle reminder: everything is fine and unfolding exactly as it should.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
It’s not just one belief — it’s all of them. I’ve come to see that no belief is truly helpful. Beliefs are often just substitutes for not knowing. Once you truly know something, there’s no need to believe it.
Beliefs work like programs running in the background. The more you believe, the more programs you carry. The more programs you carry, the heavier and slower your “software” — your mind — becomes. Your vision of life narrows, and you stop seeing life as it really is. You only see it as you believe it to be.
So my journey has been one of unprogramming — removing beliefs one by one — to see reality as it actually is, free of filters and conditioning.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
“Nothing” and “everything.”
Nothing — because there was nothing there to begin with. No name, no fame, no material world or accomplishments. It’s all been an illusion, remember?
And everything — because that is what we truly are. We are the Absolute, the Eternal. That’s the beauty of self-realization: knowing you are not this body or this mind. You are pure awareness — limitless, unbound, and free.
