We were lucky to catch up with Allison Espinoza recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
I always talk to myself, especially in situations when I feel overwhelmed. Every day, I take a moment to pause and reflect on what I want to accomplish. I remind myself of my goals, and most importantly, I remind myself why I am here and how fortunate my life has been. I admire all that I have overcome and value the person I’ve become. Talking to myself helps me stay grounded and present. It boosts my self-esteem and clears the path ahead. When I encourage myself out loud, my body automatically reacts to it, and it feels wonderful. Having that moment to myself is truly my favorite part of the day.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I came to Miami six years ago with a notebook full of goals. At the time, opening a photo booth business wasn’t one of them. If you had asked me then, all I wanted was to dance. Acting wasn’t even on the table either, I had given it up back in my home country.
Life, however, has a way of surprising us with opportunities we never imagined. I used to stress over whether I would ever accomplish my dreams, but looking back, life was simply saying: what if I have something else in store for you?
Today, I’m grateful that I get to do what I love most—acting—while also running a business that has given me unforgettable experiences and taken me places I never thought I’d go.
OMG Studio is my passion project turned brand, and over the years we’ve had the honor of working with some of the most recognizable companies in the U.S. With a full catalog of immersive photo and video booth experiences, we’re excited to keep growing and to expand into new horizons next year.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d say adaptability, resilience and relationship-building. So much of what I do now comes from genuine connections and collaborations. People remember how you make them feel and how you show up.
My advice for those just starting out: Don’t get stuck on a single definition of success, stay open, because sometimes the “detour” ends up being the real destination. And lastly, invest in people. Build relationships with honesty and intention; those connections can open doors you didn’t even know existed.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Definitely my family. I come from a Hispanic culture, and we are all about family. They encourage me all the time, they’re the first ones to support me, and they always make me feel that they’ll be there no matter what. Even though we’re miles apart, I feel connected to them at all times.
