Bobby O’Gurek of Summit Hill, PA on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Bobby O’Gurek and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My normal day starts with getting ready for the day by the help from my personal care attendants. They are awesome taking care of me and helping me with whatever I need. Then I usually go on TikTok Live. I love doing this, because I get to interact with my friends and followers. Then depending on what day it is,, if it is a Monday or Thursday, I go to the fire company where I am a firefighter. In the other days I go riding in my wheelchair around town depending on the weather. That’s basically my normal day! 😃😃

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi. I am Bobby O’Gurek from Pennsylvania. I am a social media influencer and a live streamer. I was born with a condition known as cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair to get around and I also use a communication device to communicate. I have an associates degree in web development. I have a big following on TikTok. I love to create videos and go LIVE! I love to interact with others on LIVE! I also work for PRC Saltillo as a company ambassador where I speak about my experiences through my life with augmentative communication.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my parents really shaped my life. Even when I was born with this condition, my parents did not hold back raising me like any other child. I am happy they were strict with me because it made me who I am today, a loving, caring, and respectful person who makes the best of it in my life. I think my relationship with God has made an impact in my life, because I trust in him in leading me on the right path of life. There is more I would love to see in my life, but I leave it to God if he thinks those things are good in my life.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I don’t think there was ever a time where I wanted to give up. Sure, I have depressing and frustrating days. But I overcome them by doing things that I absolutely love, like doing my social media, going to the fire company, going out socializing, talking to my family and friends, going to sporting events, and many more things. Romance is a huge thing I struggle with too. I know my expectations are too high but I know what I am looking for in a relationship and a partner. I hope one day I will meet my true love!

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version is the real me. I want everyone to see the worst and the best of me. I am not perfect at all trust me! Hahahaha. I have my faults and imperfections just like everyone else! I just live my life to the fullest weather it good or bad! I trust in god to keep taking me on the right path!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want to have a legacy where I made a positive impact in others lives. I love to make people happy and smile, just because I know the struggles in life and if I can provide that beacon of light of happiness and joy, I know that I did what I needed to do in this lifetime!
