We’re looking forward to introducing you to Haley Biggins . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Haley , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My day starts around 7am, with (sometimes) a workout session with my trainer. From there I go to my 9-5, where I am the Senior Marketing Specialist for Pennsylvania’s largest private cancer practice, Alliance Cancer Specialists. When the work day is over, I enjoy going home and spending time with my partner. My favorite is eating dinner together, talking about our day and watching a game like the Phillies. When dinner is done, I’ll focus on a creative hobby weather that means editing photos from a recent photography session I had, revising a past screenplay or writing a new one, researching production companies, etc. My partner and I usually end the day by playing a video game together or putting on a movie.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Haley Biggins. I am an award winning screenwriter and photographer. I am the owner of Haley Rose Photography. I specialize in family portraits, but can capture anyone’s vision doing virtually anything. I am in the process of expanding my services, to offer more creative jobs like marketing for small businesses. I like to create business cards, flyers, social media content and more! I’ve grown my skills in marketing through my 9-5 jobs. I am currently the Senior Marketing Specialist for Alliance Cancer Specialists. They are PA’s #1 Physician Owned Cancer Practice. I currently have two completed screenplays. A horror/thriller, Safe Word, which has won over 7 awards in competitions! My other is a time travel comedy, We The PPL which I finished earlier this year and it has already placed in two competitions! I am currently working on my third, and trying to find representation.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I lost my father in August of 2023 and it was a very traumatic experience. I grieved terribly, and still do, I just have gotten a lot better at coping fortunately. I was in a really dark place for a while over the loss. I feel guilty for moving forward without him, so I hold onto the grief. Recently, I’ve realized how much the process of grief has changed me. I am ready to, and need to, be gentle with myself and allow that layer to shed away. It helped me through a very difficult time, but I have learned it’s okay to release it.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That everyday is a new, clean slate! If I had a terrible day and everything went wrong, I just remind myself that tomorrow is a new day full of new chances and opportunities.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Enjoying life. I truly don’t live to work. I am such a strong believer in putting yourself, friends and family before your job, before burnout. Your job will replace you in a week with no problem. The experiences and memories you get in your lifetime are not replaceable!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
A little bit of both. Society created the structure where we have to work to survive, so that part I feel like I’m doing what I was told I had to do. Which isn’t super enjoyable, the obligation..however, I am lucky enough to be able to do that by using my creativity, which is what I was truly born to do. I hope one day, I can just do what I was born to do, happily without the obligations.
