Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Currently a normal day is me waking up and thanking God for my good night’s rest, my beautiful family, and the day that is ahead of me. Next, I do my morning routine showering and stuff, breakfast, etc. I head off to work and put smiles on people’s faces while dollars enter my pockets 😁. Lastly, I finish my day off with a little exercising, PS5 gaming (WWE), and sometimes a drink to take the edge off.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! My name is Kalvin also known as “The Main Subject”. I am a professional model and newly trainee for professional wrestling. I have been featured on Canvas Rebel before so thank you for having me back. I work with the company Asics, soon to be getting a corporate position with them within the next few months. I am a ballroom participant mastering the Runway category. I am the current DMV All American Runway OTY 2024, People’s Choice DMV All American Runway OTY 2025, and the People’s Choice DMV BQ Runway OTY 2025. Currently in the running for more awards and more success within modeling. I was also on the Web Reality Show “Bad Boyz Club Season 7” as the Fan favorite on YouTube (2022).
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Honestly Moving to New York City in 2023 really made me morph into my man era and look at the world differently and think more strategically. It’s so hard out here especially without support. I grew up spoiled by my family so to be on my own was a huge difference but a blessing so that I can stand on my own 2 feet. I believe everyone should keep God in their lives because without him where would you be right now? How can you go day to day without thanking him? How can you evolve as a person and what do you want in life? God is the answer!
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
My recent break up felt like I was being crushed by cinder blocks. It was super emotional for me and I tried to save face in person, but at home I would cry every single day. I learned to master and fight through my emotions rather than deter them. That is what made me a stronger man today. I see a huge difference in myself and I’m glad others see it as well.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Whether it’s public or behind closed doors, I will always be genuinely myself because that’s how I was raised. I’m a Pisces (March) and I have no cut cards. I tell it how it is, I check myself, and I don’t deal with any disrespect. I been like this since my toddler days and the man I am now would be described as reliable, immaculate, charming, funny, bold, loving, and a breath of fresh air.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I have accomplished a lot in my life. I’ve learned from my mistakes and learned how to turn my losses into wins. Everything I wanted to accomplish, I have! My personality and patience is what got me far ahead. My faith, love, and beliefs are what kept me safe and helped others remember who I am and the impact I made in their lives. I hope I can be remembered for being loving and compassionate.
