We recently had the chance to connect with Kathyann Nicolas and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kathyann, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My spiritual journey! Though I have been a Christian since I can remember. People often think once a Christian always a Christian. However, it’s a journey that has ups and downs. And I had moments I was so focused on my business and other things going on in my life. I didn’t have time for my spiritual life. Behind the scenes I’m trying to get back on track but, it’s not something people noticed.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kathyann Nicolas, 30-year-old CEO of Kyle Join Corp, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. Growing up, I watched my mom navigate the world of business, and I guess you could say that’s where my love for entrepreneurship was sparked. At just 20, I took the leap and started my own business. It’s been a wild ride ever since – ups, downs, and all the lessons in between. But the most rewarding part? Seeing my vision come to life and making a difference in my community.
As the founder of Kyle Join Corp, I initially set out to provide marketing services and connect business owners through collaborations and referrals. But as our company grew, so did our mission. We quickly realized that our impact could extend far beyond just marketing. We expanded our scope to include empowering the next generation of leaders through our nonprofit program “Little Bosses”. Where we host business expos and workshops to teach kids entrepreneurial skills. We also created Ky Le Studio, a creative space where artists and creatives can bring their ideas to life at an affordable rate.
As a mom, I’m passionate about creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs and supporting the next generation of leaders. I believe that by working together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant community. I’m excited to share our story with you, and I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals who share our passion for entrepreneurship, creativity, and community building.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was 24 years old. Working in the construction industry . My partner had a project that required my support while he was away, and I stepped up to lead. I vividly remember leaving my 8-month-old baby at home at 6 am to head to the project site, which was a large community of male workers. Despite being in a male-dominated industry, I was determined to get the job done. What struck me most was how the crew recognized my presence and gave me the respect and support I needed. It was a defining moment for me, and I felt a sense of power and confidence that has stayed with me ever since.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For me, the fear that has held me back the most is the fear of being the center of attention. I’ve always been somewhat introverted and prefer to keep a low profile. But, as a business owner I’ve had to navigate situations that require me to be more outgoing and visible. It’s been a challenge to balance my natural inclination to avoid the spotlight, with the demands of growing my business. I think being more outspoken and confident in the public eye could have taken my business to an even bigger level. But, it’s something I’m working on overcoming.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Whom do I admire for their character, not their power? For me, it’s Jehovah God. What resonates with me is how he’s extremely powerful, yet remains humble. His nature is also reflected in how he approaches us, not being quick to judge. But, rather seeking to understand the reasons behind our actions. I find that incredibly admirable. I try to live by similar principles. Staying humble no matter how far I go and choosing understanding over judgment. It’s a mindset that fosters compassion and genuine connections.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope people remember me as someone who empowered others, nurtured the next generation, and left a lasting impact through my businesses. People will recall my humility, kindness, and willingness to understand and support others, and that my legacy continues to inspire others to build, create, and give back.
