Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dr. Steven Roth

We recently had the chance to connect with Dr. Steven Roth and have shared our conversation below.

Steven, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
What I feel called to do now—something I was once afraid of—is to enlighten people at a deeper level, raising both their motivation and our collective consciousness.

Back in 2008, when I first trained in hypnotherapy, I mostly stayed in the safe lane of medical hypnosis. I was worried about judgment if I explored the spiritual side—things like past life regressions or soul contracts. Today, I’ve released that fear. Through my work with The G.I.F.T. Shift™, I now bridge neuroscience, consciousness, and spirituality. I help people uncover their soul contracts, discover their life purpose, and step fully into their gifts.

I used to hold back from sharing this side of myself. Now, I embrace it—and I see how powerful it is when people realize they can shift from fear and stress into higher states of love, clarity, and possibility. That’s when transformation truly begins.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dr. Steven Roth, a former dentist turned hypnotherapist and creator of The G.I.F.T. Shift™—which stands for Guided Imagination for Transformation. My journey has been about bridging science and spirituality in a way that helps people move from stress and fear into higher states of clarity, purpose, and possibility.

What makes my work unique is that it blends neuroscience, quantum physics, and consciousness research with the deeply human side of spirituality—things like soul contracts, discovering your life purpose, and awakening to your gifts. I’m passionate about helping people not only heal, but also raise their vibration so they can create more joy, freedom, and collective harmony in the world.

Right now, I’m focused on training practitioners, creating transformative recordings, and sharing these tools through expos, talks, and retreats. At the heart of it, my mission is simple: to help people wake up to who they really are and to live from that empowered, connected place.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that forever shaped how I see the world happened back in 2008. My dental practice was down 40% during the recession, and my home was upside down—I owed $1.2 million on a house worth only $650,000. I felt completely trapped. My girlfriend at the time asked me a simple but life-changing question: “Do you believe in a higher power—and is it loving?” That shifted everything.

She challenged me to consider whether life happens to me or for me. At first, I said both—but she reminded me that even my painful divorce had led me to her. That was the first time I truly believed that life unfolds for our highest good.

Not long after, I did something I never thought possible—I stopped paying my mortgage. A year later, the bank cut my debt almost in half, allowing me to keep my practice. But the real transformation wasn’t financial—it was internal. I began living from the perspective that a loving higher power is always working for me. By letting go of constant worry and trusting this truth, I discovered something invaluable: peace of mind.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: Believe in yourself. Trust yourself. You already have everything you need within you. The fears, doubts, and outside judgments don’t define you—your inner wisdom and gifts do.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to helping reduce — and ultimately eliminate — mental suffering by showing people that it’s optional. The way we think and the programs we carry in our subconscious mind determine whether we live in worry or in joy. By cultivating positive thoughts and attitudes, and by releasing negative patterns, we can create a more fulfilling existence.

Einstein once said, “The most important decision you will ever make is whether you live in a friendly or hostile universe.” Whichever you choose — consciously or unconsciously — becomes your reality. The challenge is that most people find it difficult, if not impossible, to shift their unconscious mind. That’s why I developed The G.I.F.T. (Guided Imagination for Transformation) — a process designed to reprogram limiting beliefs, dissolve worry, and help people anchor into joy and possibility.

This isn’t a quick project — it’s a lifelong mission. And I’ll stay committed to it for as long as it takes.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If immortality were real, what would you build?

If immortality were real, I would build a system where anyone could step inside and experience what it feels like to completely let go of fear and worry, to shift into positive thoughts, and to live life on purpose. A place where the subconscious mind is reprogrammed for joy and peace, where negative patterns are dissolved, and where people reconnect with their highest selves.

With this kind of transformation at scale, collective consciousness would rise. Humanity would begin to see life through a kinder lens, trusting that the universe is supportive, not hostile. We would bring more heaven to earth — and that would be the legacy I’d want to live on forever.
