We’re looking forward to introducing you to Shanae Cooper-Robinson . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Shanae , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am walking a path that leads to self-actualization, fulfillment of purpose and a quest to discover my best possible self . On that path many adversities are faced but I am determined to remain focus , keep my eyes on the prize and never get distracted by the outside noise.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Shanae Cooper-Robinson is a Global Women of Choice Awardee ( for Philanthropy ), POSH Caribbean Life Time Achievement Nominee, London Power Up Awards Nominee , Award-winning Author, Lead Teacher, Generativity Strategist who empowers women, educator and youth to rise above their adversities, leave generational footprints and become their best possible selves.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I was marred with the perception that my background , upbring and economic circumstances would determine my future outcome or how far I would reach in life. I did not have any role model to look up to so the desire to be more than I was came with challenges. But now, all those mental and mindset barriers have been removed. I am at a stage now where I believe that if my mind can conceive it, then I can achieve it.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering and adversities taught me how to work harder to change my circumstances. It also helped me to develop my character , gain emotional and psychological strength as well as to be resilient , and never give up when the tide of life rages. I condition my mind to see the best in the worst situation , never to yield when in despair but rather keep going until I view my silver- lining at the end of my dark clouds or adversities.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Most of the admirable attributes or character that shape and define my life today are the ones that I acquired from my mom, hence she is the person that I admire the most for her character, strength, determination, work ethics, and resilience.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story that I know most people who share path with me will tell is that, I give more than I take, is hardworking, resilient, uplifting and that I am someone who takes pride in achieving excellence. In addition to that, they will share that Shanae is a Generativity Strategist, one who empowers women, educators and youth to rise above their adversities and leave generational footprints . I uplift while I elevate , I am a force to recon with, I am not easily stopped. This is the story that will be shared when my time expires.
