We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rob Wellz. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Rob, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes definitely. I just recently secured my label to start distributing music under The Orchard. It’s been a long process making this all happen but it’s a part of the mission and a level I believed I was meant to reach since I first started my career in music.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Rob Wellz;
MC & CEO of Fortis Sterra Unbounded The Label and Founder Of 40 Star Apparel
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When I was younger I was certain the whole world was against me. I believed the whole world was one step ahead of me and when good things were to happen it was just the world choosing to be easy on me just for that moment. I taught myself to do my best regardless, and that I was the one to put myself into positions to win or lose all within God’s will of course. And I don’t let anything stop me or hold me back and it has brought me to where I am today.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Losing my grandfather as well as losing my best friend who was a brother to me definitely had a huge impact on my life. Both occurrences were at pivotal times in my life where I could have fallen off completely or used the energy to succeed moving forward in their honor. Those wounds are still in the healing process but I try to make positive choices to expedite the healing process everyday.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That all you need is money to be successful. Money helps you with buzz and exposure, yes, as in any field. But talent, passion & soul is what leads to longevity. You can pay to have your name everywhere for a year or two. Real hard-work and dedication into something you love will lead to a final product that has no expiration date.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When I know my wife and son are safe, happy & healthy.
