Andy, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Music, it takes me to a universe full of energy and positivity , time doesn’t exist when I’m singing , when I’m creating new songs when I’m performing on stage , Music is my voyage to this world full of colors and sounds , sounds that always give me energy to keep going Pa’Delante in the real world.
We all need more music , we all need more dancing , we all need more colors in life!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andy Gonzalez , founder and frontman of Roka Hueka , Latin Ska band from Denver CO.
Since i was a kid I always wanted to play or sing in a band , i always had this dream. I remember singing all the time , looking for different styles and genres to listen to , but i never did anything to actually play or sing in a band or anything like that , so years passed by and finally the dream came true when Roka Hueka was created.
Based in Denver Colorado, Roka hueka is still going Pa’Delante thanks to you!
Yes, Ska , yes , Latin ska, i know what probably you are thinking right now …. Ska is dead , well, Roka Hueka is not the traditional classic , second or third wave ska band , we mix so many sounds and rhythms , it is so fun to share different sounds to everyone listening to Roka Hueka, actually , a lot of people saying we are part of the fourth wave of ska , that sounds pretty cool right?
Roka hueka finally had the chance to our first National Tour last year , giving Roka Hueka the opportunity to share our music to different live audiences around the US like California, Utah , New Mexico , texas , Illinois and many more.
Roka hueka will be celebrating 12 years on February 2026 , the ride has been an amazing journey, and we will continue spreading out our music and energy!
The best reward i get is to see people sing and dance to our music , see them smile , see them forget all the issues and problems , see them enjoy El Rico Sabor Ska!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I always believed in myself, i knew things were tough and rough at moments , but those moments made me stronger, and I still believe in myself , I believe in all the things that can help me become a better person every day , i learn , i rewind and re think, that way I can move forward to make make my goals an dreams come true.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Never stop dreaming! Follow your dreams, work hard to make them true!
Now that I think i bit more, also maybe push myself a bit harder to achieve those goals and dreams sooner . it probably would say that to my younger self.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, 1oo% , you always will see the real Andy Gonzalez , why try to be another person? why try to be fake? I will always stay real .
It is very important to be true to your own personality, values and beliefs , smile when you want to smile , cry when you feel like crying , scream when you know you have to do it , just be real and be happy!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
At this point in my life , I feel I’m in the perfect place and the perfect timing , and everything i do is what i love to do , this world gives me the chance to live , to create , to play , to dream , to sing , and be thankful about every single person I have around me .
When you love what you do , everything is easier , everything is a joy , your ideas are bigger , your colors are brighter!
Sometimes we forget the most important mission in life , and that is to be happy, i don’t want to forget that , i always remind myself, to keep smiling and to do what i really love.
